The python used on Warren's guitar was from a young snake that Warren saw on a camping trip when he was 13 years old. Every year his family went back to that camping spot and Warren and his brother would scout around to find that snake. Once Ratt hit it big, when they would tour in that area, the bus driver would pull over and Warren and the rest of the band would go out and look for the snake, stage clothes, hair spray, make up and all. Thirteen years after Warren saw the snake for the first time, he was scouting the campground with Stephen Pearcy. They found the snake and it wasn't doing well. Warren sat for days with the ailing snake, feeding it water with an eye dropper and chewing up small rodents and spitting them into the snakes mouth because it was too weak to feed itself.
Finally, the great python breathed it's last breath. In a fitting tribute to the majestic beast, Warren immortalized it by having it glued to the body of his guitar. Each time Warren plays or writes music with this guitar, all proceeds are donated to the Python Protection Society. Through the peaceful, serene and natural death by old age of this great creature, over 70,000 young pythons have benefited.
