Her tits are freakin awesome!!
And that's about all, really.

Has Rick been to this thread yet?

PWE are gaining hooge props in the world of players. I'm seeing a lot of love there. I've yet to try, so I can't speak about 'em personally. But they're on my hitlist, and hey, fellow Canuck lads doing good - so I have to get one one day!

I have a CAA OD100se+. They are different amps but have a lot of similarities. The OD100 SE+ is darker and smoother than the PT but it has a very similar (if not identical) clean channel. So if it helps, it is flat out the best clean i have ever played. Period.

And to set the record straight, PWE's customer service is one of the best in the business.
I'll second PWE as having incredible customer service. Ted was in constant contact during the entire process. He went out of his way and built something into my amp that was discontinued. He emailed me a couple times AFTER I received the amp to make sure I was happy and get feedback. His wiring is impeccable and the tone is great. For the record, I'm a very happy customer.

It is one amp that I really like from what I have heard! I would definitely get one if I wasn't completely happy with what I have now. Don't mind supporting my fellow Canuck's up here, though.

Had I had known about them earlier, I would have bought one, no question.

The PT100 is a semi 3 Channel Head, clean channel is one of the best I've heard of any multi channel amp. The dirty channel is great and the more dirty boosted setting is thick as well. I preferred the higher gain tones of the Friedman BE-100 but the PT would be more versatile. I've played the Shiva 20th and I still prefer the EL34 based regular Shiva, and the clean channel on the Shiva is great too. Doubt you can go wrong in either direction, if you're leaning toward the Shiva I suggest play a 20th next to a EL34. Boost any of these with a Suhr Koko and you'll be happy I'm sure.

....and decent thread derailing......."now"

Ignore him, this is what he does. He's a local guy obviously with some kind of axe to grind. I emailed him in an effort to keep it off the board but when you're dealing with a troll, this is what happens.

Sure, I'm a troll...
I'm asking what the big fuss is about PWE amps and you see fit to send me a classy email...
If you had any type of business sense, you'd try to be polite with any potential customer, not just the 10-12 people who ever bought an amp from you.

You're an asshat of the biggest proportion.

Jeez thanks
The OP said keep the crap out of this thread, but you couldn't resist, could you?

If amp manufacturers are in play on here and use this site to pimp their products why can't people ask questions about them? Isn't it a public forum? What the guy said wasn't that big of a deal.

Thanks mate

By the way, when I mentioned Stevenson amps not having "that good a reputation" I didn't mean they have a bad rep, I mean they're not anything special, according to all the people I have spoken to

If it were me, it's a no brainer. I'd get the PWE EH in a heartbeat. I owned the PT-100 for a year and did not like it. I owned Bogner Ecstasys, but I'm familiar w/ the Shiva. Later for Bogner. I'd never buy another.

What don't you like about Bogners ?

I had Ecstasys. They're not bad, but in the end they don't have that high-mid spike like a Marshall. There is no way to get a decent cut with the amp. It's always a compromise, IMO

I see what you mean, they're mod low-mid oriented and lots of people don't like them in a band situation.

I agree that the XTC does not sound like a Marshall, as it lacks the Marshall upper mids. However, I have never understood the reputation it has on discussion forums that it doesn't, or won't, cut in a band mix? I've had quite a few XTCs over the years, play in two guitar bands, and have never had a problem with these amps cutting. Adjust the bright switches and turn up the treble and mids! Anyways, to each their own, I suppose.....

As for the Shiva - it is voiced quite a bit differently than the XTC. The 20th is now my main gigging amp, which I moved to because I do gravitate more towards the Marshall tonality, and the Shiva does have more upper mids and a more aggressive tonality than the XTC.

I've never played the PT, but I've heard good things. I own a 20th Shiva (KT88), Ecstasy 101b and PWE. They are all great IMO. It really depends what you're looking for. The PWE is more Marshall-esque than the other two. If you told me I had to pick just one of my three, it would be very difficult. They all have characteristics I appreciate. Plus, I'm still honeymooning with all three; they've all been recently acquired through trade and other gear sales.

PWE Event Horizon 3 50 watt head bought new from Oz at Austin Guitar Shop, should be here hopefully early next week. Will definitely post initial thoughts and a detailed review once I have some time in with it.

Definitely want to pass on my humble and sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. All of the amps listed are incredible machines, and are certainly worthy of the accolades and respect given here. In the end, the PWE seemed to be the best fit for me based upon its voicing, features, and open, Marshall-esque tone, but I hope to have the chance to play the other ones in the future to hear their mojo as well.

Thanks again guys, cheers

Congrats! I think you'll love it. Very unique, yet familiar at the same time.
