PWE Event Horizon 3 / Suhr CAA PT100 / Bogner Shiva 20th Anv

Sounds like you're describing the 20th Ecstasy or the PWE (although I don't own one). The 20th has some more bite along with the typical Bogner growl and thick midrange. I don't have any problem cutting in my band. Plus if you take advantage of the boosts (as I do), you have a lot of useful tones at your feet. The PWE sounds a bit more vintage by comparison and a well designed amp from a company with a solid rep.

The PWE mids are voiced much closer to a Marshall where the Bogner's are voiced lower and thicker.

I agree and that is a big reason why I still own both the 20th with EL34s and the Event Horizon. I tend to like having amps that are different from one another, which is why I also love my BFG Mesa Dual Rectifier.

To my ears, the PWE has more punch and feel than the Bogner, closer to a classic Marshall. That said, I love all three amps.

Also, customer service with Bogner and PWE have been top notch in my experience. :)

Good choice on picking up a PWE.
Not an amp I've played, but the clips and testimonies are impressive.

They're every bit as good as you've heard.

Just received the beautiful EH3 from TED all the way from CANADA, I have to say TED is really nice and easy to deal with, I haven't plug my EH3 yet, but I have SLO and owned OD3 and Hagen, will give more detailed about this amp for sure during this weekend~

BTW, thanx LP Freak~

Hey gang! Sorry for the black out, I haven't been the most diligent Rig Talk member as of late and apologize for the lack of response.

Bottom line up front, I've owned the EH3 more than six months now, and it's an absolute keeper. Incredibly diverse tones, extremely dynamic. I play in a all original alt rock band and it absolutely pays the rent and then some. Absolute rocker with a soul, I highly encourage others to take the plunge if you are on the fence. Ted's customer service has been top notch to date.

Recently (as in today), my band finishing mixing two new songs that we recorded, all electric guitars are with the PWE EH3. Specifically, "Aimless" is on channel 2 with a Tyler Studio Elite, chorus parts have a Les Paul R7 layered in. "Clean Slate" has the same Tyler for the verse parts but while running a Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe up front and delay. Chorus is sans vibe, but uses a Jan Ray to boost channel 2, there is also a R7 layered in. Solo is the Blow channel with the vibe and delay.

I really think the recording gives a accurate example of how the PWE EH3 can sound in a band mix. Sorry again for the lapse, but hopefully the recordings might help illustrate some tones the PWE can conjure up. Cheers y'all, and please let me know if there are any questions I might be able to help with on the amp.

The logo lights are back?
That's a nice touch.

I still do the lights if someone asks but most of the amps don't have them.

I have never played the pwe, but have owned the shiva and spent time with the pt. I would choose the shiva 20th over the pt . However , I am very interested in looking into a pwe as the clips I have heard sound killer.

The PWE is more classic sounding than either of those. Don't confuse that with less gain though.

I prefer a more classic sounding amp but with gain on tap which is why I liked what I have heard so far and am interested.

I have the 20th Ann Shiva and love it to death. I also have the PWE Event Horizon 2, which is every bit as good as the Bogner, but it is ballsier, more Marshall, more responsive. I prefer the Event Horizon 2 over the EH3 because I much prefer the configuration.
In my PWE, I replaced V2 with a JJ ECC832 to cut the gain down, and now it is even better. I can't stop playing it.
In the end, it is personal preference, some prefer the E3. Both are tremendous.
I have no experience with the CAA.
