Regular Shiva and 20th Ann. are two different amps. I would go with the 20th if I had to do it over again BUT, I am happy enough with my regular Shiva and a simple boost to keep me happy for a long time.
The 20th has a lot more gain on tap, a voicing switch that shapes the gain channel, better clean channel with more gain, and runs on kt88's. Basically the next step of what the amp should be.

Do you think it would be worth my while to go ahead and save up and get the 20th?
Yes!!

Awesome, my friend just recommended the Badcat Lynx for me...anyone played one of those?

I'm still lovin' the Shiva, just checking all the options.

Absolutely - as mentioned in my previous post, the 20thA series of models seems to have really taken all the things that the general public and discerning players wanted and needed and demanded from their stock Bogners, and jammed them in with perfection and terrific quality and care.

If and when I pick up a 20thA Shiva (and yes, you're right, there's no Shiva in the 20thA XTC), I'm not fussed with on board reverb - my Eventides and EHX Cathedral do this better than anything else. The Shiva to me harkens back to some brilliant tones of old Zep, raw Hendrix, some beautiful rich fluid thick Delta style bluesy lines, some U2/Edge 'edginess' and so much more... It's a simple amp, but it's loaded with beauty and again, I'm drawn to it because it sounds so unique.

Play the lynx first, but def a great amp (6V6) BC is a lot different than Bogner in way of feel and response. Hot cat 30 is one to check out to.
If getting a Shiva definitely go with a 20th.

If you could, can you kind of explain the difference?

They have some pretty accurate clips at the Bad Cat site, Bad Cats feel like your using a really good compressor and have a real complex swirly sound/tone, the Bogner will be a more direct and "To the point" kind of sound. You can't go wrong with either, I just like the Bogner tone better. Especially cranked.
