As I said above, "arguable", "debatable" etc... Way to many varying stories out there.

However logic says he wasn't doing any more "original" albums with them after he agreed to do SOTD, then informed them he would be leaving and then got sucker punched in the face by Ozzy only weeks before he passed. Considering everything else that had happened up until that point, I just don't see Randy sitting in a room with Ozzy working on original material after that.

I had a Peavey Musician and it was a fuckin horrible amp for guitar.I would believe a Peavey Mace but damn.....a Musician......

I had the same amp. And at least 3 other reasonable facsimiles. Including one for bass. Mark 4 I think. And I had one older than the one pictured that was called a Musician. None of them were anything to write home about, although I will say you could toss them off the roof and they'd still work. I eventually gave them all away.

I have to give Randy credit, he made it sound glorious compared to the tones I heard in it. I graduated to a 1984 1x12 Marshall S/S mosfet combo then a 1979 100 watt 2203 halfstack and I never looked back. I have no good memories of my Peavey Musician.........

You take Randy or Eddie or Jimi or anyone like that and give them the crappiest guitar and rig on the planet and they will still sound like themselves. Tone really is ( partly) in the fingers.

I actually was a huge Randy fan before I got into EVH...both influenced my playing.

And Brad Gillis did a better job than RR ever would on the Sabbath material on Speak Of The Devil

Brad did do a good job on that stuff. Tone IMO was good as well.

That said it would have been alot more exciting to hear Randy's takes of more of it because Brad was very much in the pocket. Whereas what you hear from Randy doing that stuff, he more or less went for it. I still think he approached that stuff as if he was thumbing his nose at Ozzy because he had to play it.

When Blue Blud finished their “Universal Language” recordings, they played me the album, and asked what I thought of it.
I strapped on a guitar, and instantly played all the glaringly missing rhythm guitar parts. Straight through from start to finish, one shot.
When you aren’t committed, and personally invested - you’d be surprised just how in the pocket you can get.
