Bathroom antics or not. I liked the guys music.(my opinion of course)
Wham and his solo stuff.
I have fucked more to his music then Slayer or Metallica.
I own a few of his CD's.
His death shocked me and I am glad someone posted it since I don't go to news or yahoo bullshit.
Sad for him and his family.

Really? Did I say anything worse that you did in this thread? See post #3

Just giving you a hard time man. I deserved the backlash.

Merry Christmas

I agree...RIP here is for musicians usually, and he contributed a lot...He mattered to me. Watch "Somebody to Love" with him and Queen live. It's killer. I actually liked Make it Big...I am not scared to admit it. Did he matter, yes. Everyone matters.
Got the Queen box set.
Old Georgie was ripping it up on "Somebody to love"

Really am sad about anyone that has touched me musically that bites the big one. :(
Like a little bit of my music growth dies. :aww:

I personally enjoy Wham! and George Michael. I think far too often people assume that folks who like hard rock or metal only like hard rock or metal. My old college band used to do a heavier version of "Careless Whisper". I listen to a little of everything. My first album I ever owned was Michael Jackson's "Thriller", followed up by Huey Lewis and the News "Sports". I got into more (traditional) country/western/bluegrass from my grandpa way back in day.

While you may hear me mostly play hard rock, there's the possibility you'll hear anything pop up on my playlist depending on my mood that day...

Really?... Who gives a f***?

Look.... It's Christmas. My wife is putting the little one to bed and I thought I'd catch up on Rig Talk. I'm sorry he passed, just as I'd be sorry ANYONE passed. I don't mean to be a fuddy duddy.... but did George Michael really matter in anyone's life here? It seems that every time a has been celebrity passes, someone is running to post a RIP thread.

All I'm saying is... Let's give a little more thanks to the one's that really matter in our world. My wife does so much work to help rescue animals and my Uncle Louis dedicated his life to helping his community. I'd much rather hear about those people, not some dickhead who gets arrested in bathrooms.

Merry Christmas

wow dude. do you have ANY idea how much money George Michael donated and raised towards charities?? In the tens of millions of dollars. If you think your uncle louis or wife have had some important impact, imagine how much impact his philanthropic contributions and awareness raising efforts had. Its bad form to speak ill of the dead, I would hope you would reconsider your words, especially with someone who has done MUCH more than get caught in a bathroom..there is more to his legacy than the one bad thing you can say about him.

merry fucking christmas. smh.

I can understand that Reza... and this really wasn't directed toward George Michael's fully. I just want people not to forget all the "little" people out there that makes this world so great. I think there is a lot of great in everyone and I'm sure he's no different.

Ed

I understand your message but, I don't know your wife or your Uncle Louis, so I can't speak to their actions or remember them....that's for YOU to do...likewise for people close to me who you'll never know. Me recognizing the passing of someone who was musically important to me doesn't diminish my appreciation of the "little" people.....cause I'm even smaller than them.
Merry Christmas.....and that's not being sarcastic.... :)

Real shame. He was a huge contributor and a good human being from what I know.
He passed from a heart attack. He did have health problems as well.

ok first one to pass away was the king of pop, then the 'Prince' and now.. unfortunately even the but(t)ler. :(
sad day for a sad world indeed... someone should call Elton for a medical check just to be sure the grim reaper had enough

Great talent for sure and he did have the voice (and looks let's be honest)... I think a lot of us probably had Duran Duran , WHAM, and Michael Jackson albums kicking around as kids and then at some point an older sibling or family friend turned us on to the good stuff. Nothing wrong with pop, I love ABBA and there are a ton of great pop bands and singers. I think for me it is less the loss of the artist and more how sad it is to die on christmas and in one's early 50's. Think of all that work and life you lived and then finally in your 50's where things slow down a bit and you can enjoy the fruits of your labour, your ticker gives up the goose. What a rip. But hey, the guy probably packed in a lot of living in those years so he has that. The whole public bathroom thing never really bugged me either.. I mean we are all human and have vices, he found a way to mix it up and keep it exciting. Part of the thrill for famous people is being able to go out in disguises or go under the radar I am sure. Don't think he ever expected anyone to focus on that or have that one act tarnish everything and anything else he did.

Well said man.

Man, could not believe the news of his death.. fantastic musician, singer, songwriter.. I liked everything he did! RIP

A few sidenotes from someone who was there in the 80's and remembers.

- You almost forget that he sung on "Do They Know Its Christmas", the charity song they did in England.

- I don't care what anyone says. Back in the day, we thought that guy was straight and was banging every girl on earth. In hindsight, the pink gloves should have given it away I guess. I remember when he did the "Faith" video, every girl in my school was creamin' their jeans over him and going on and on. I think people just thought he was effeminate or something.
