I've been thinking about it since they announced. Really digging preamps through the powerstation lately. The Royalist amp is awesome too. If the preamp gets there, I doubt I'll resist lol.

I think the amp sounds a bit fuller but I can't see how it wouldn't be spot on to the amp if you ran it into a Marshall power amp. like a 2204. As is, the power section SIM sounds pretty good.

I get the current trend is these pedal preamps. However i do wish some of these would be offered in a rack format; even if just a limited run. I'd rather have a rack preamp sitting on top a speaker cab than have to sit on the floor to adjust knobs.

Your best bet is a rack drawer.

My new Royalist was delivered last week, and I finally had some time yesterday to try it out.

The early Marshall tones are in here. The feel is in here. It takes pedals well. I didn't try the JTM setting, I did the 1967 plexi (channel 1) and 1970 SLP (channel 2).

Next I want to try it with my VP4 in 4CM...this looks like it has the potential to be my ultimate mini rig for Marshall tones.

I didn't try to get any high gain with a boost tho'

The biggest issue, and failure, of the Royalist is that the enclosure isn't black and gold.
