Go pick up a used MIM tele and swap out the pickups. If you don't want any tawng at all, I highly recommend the Duncan Quarter Pounder. I currently have my tele loaded with a Duncan Broadcaster and vintage neck. Even though they are "vintage" output pickups, it still brings the rock with authority. Teles are wonderful guitars. They are only limited to what you can put into your playing. If I didn't have such a love affair with Les Pauls, I could easily be a full time tele guy.
No no, that's just it. I want the Tele of Tele's - I want all the twang, bite, grit and spank that the oldschool, canoe paddles can offer. I'm going deep!! No humbuckers, no individual saddles, no rosewood - just pure, raw, Tele simplicity. I wanna see what the hell I can do with it

And as for 'Les Paul Love Affairs", Bro, that's all I am... I love my Lesters hands down. They're 'MY' guitars. I got several and they're all my fave players, would never want to be in a position of picking 'just one'. I find they feel great, play great, sound great, and I feel they're an extension of me.

So why a Tele?? Because I want to see what it can do in the rock, heavy, and alternative department into a high-gain head.

This is sick... I've got problems.

No worries Vultures, there's enough to go around

That's exactly what I want. I'm not even looking at a tele with humbuckers anywhere, only maple board, just a huge block of wood with strings and 2 measly single coils

Yep!! Going 'Deliverance' style, boyeeee. I want it dirty, gritty, simple, and plain. No hollywood here m'man, if I'm gonna love it, I don't want any lipstick on 'er to sway my decision. If I come out of this hatin' 'em, least I KNOW for sure

This is my tele. It's bare bones and can twang with the best of them. I wanted a traditional tele. They are fun, and EXTREMELY versatile. It will lay down some serious twang, and then turn around and nail old school Van Halen tones. Like I said earlier, I have a Duncan Vintage Broadcaster Lead bridge pup and a Vintage Rhythm neck pup. Love this guitar.

SFW, sweet m'man... Love the charred/burnt relic addition.

Just like the red headed stepchild one can't help but beat

Questions:

1. Are the bridges/plates perfectly and seamlessly interchangeable between the individual 6 saddle style with the 3 bolt brass barrel style? Same screw holes, dimensions, etc??

2. There are no electronics connected to the pickguard, correct? It's just a plastic sheet on the wood covering up some routing?

Thanks,
Mo

You have to check. I believe that the American Standard Fenders use a different layout for the mounting screws. I know that the Wilkinson compensated three barrel that I bought was a direct replacement for me 6-saddle MIM bridge.

Pending on the feedback I receive on the above posted thread, the trigger will be pulled in the next day or so for a brand new Tele...

Stoked, in a weird bent out of shape kinda way
