I bet he did blow up alot of stuff back then....man he plays LOUD!! It was funny when we saw him in Pittsburgh. After the show we went to get the new disc and talk to him....he asked how the band sounded, I said the gtr sounded great couldnt hear the rest.... :lol: :LOL: He was taken back alittle by that.

One of these days you'll have to give me the scoop on your tech experience!

:lol: :LOL: you probably were the first to give him that feedback amongst others because if you noticed these days, he angles his cab towards side of stage now. the tech experience ...oh yeah the verbal onslaught he gave me for two hours and then when everything starting working properly, i get the gracious hug and smile and lets have a drink later like that nothing happened! HA! One of the sound guys was setting up a mic on the cab speaker while Uli was warming up at soundcheck, three hours later I spotted the same sound guy behind the board about 30 yards away with cotton in his years and the mic was removed from stage. people think Yngwie is loud, Uli is deafening, but much clearer sounding cause its mostly clean power tube gain. I still think his 72' JMP Super Lead Tremolo sounded the best and warmest, too bad he doesnt tour with it anymore.
 
I got to hang out with uli for about 4 hours at 3rd encore the day before the uli/msg show
at the hob back in 2005.

What a gracious guy. Constantly was asking about the sound quality and really a true gentleman.

He was running through three different amps at the same time: His super lead tremelo, a vox ac30 head
and a "sky amp" prototype. I remember that he didn't like the sound of the room as it had no ambience but he was effing amazing...
 
Of all the concerts i have been at, the acts that floored me the most were Scorpions and Accept.

Love the Scorpions. I caught them at the US FEstival in 82 and the Montsers of Rock in 88. I regret not catching them since. Hopefully, they get the itch and come back.

I first dicovered the Scorpions in 81. I remember goint to Music + and buying all their older albums in one shot. I was immediately in love with Uli. It was great having all that music to digest at one time. I had bought In Trance, Virgin Killer, Fly to the Rainbow, and Tokyo tapes at once. A couple of years later, I discovered Taken by Force. I never even knew that one existed.

Does anybody know if the Scorpions recorded this final run for a DVD?

Sounds like great fun Anthony! Did you have to deal with that sustainer thing on the mic stand? He was fiddling with it all nite and didnt get it working very well. I'm sure he's used to playing larger places from back in the day where the volume was fine....he had both cabs facing front at that show. We saw him a few weeks later and stood back more in the middle. :thumbsup:

It's probably too hard getting the amp over here. I wouldn't tour with either of my plexis. They stay at home now.

Another guy that is stupid loud is Akira from Loudness... nothing but gtr that nite. :)
 
First thing I ever heard by the Scorps was Still Loving You. Loved the intro solo--the dynamics are where its at.
 
Uli is coming to House of Blues in Chicago on 10/27 with Michael Schenker. I was on the fence about going to see them (already have seen Schenker), but after reading this thread, my ass is there!
