Selling out my own bandmates. (long)

I think if you want your music to be your source of income in the future.. you want members who are co-workers first and friends second. So time to kick your friends in the nuts and get it over with, sounds like you know you will be better off without them anyways.

If they're really your friends, they gotta understand.

I had an uncomfortable situation a while back. I came to US for education. I had a 4 piece band in Turkey. When I told them I was gonna leave, they were totally cool with it. Cause they wanted me to use the opportunity and have a fresh start in a new place. A year after I moved I've asked them if I could use our guitar parts for a new band I'm trying to start. They were totally cool with that too. They weren't gonna do anything with the songs, so they didn't want to waste all the music I wrote.

In the end, I decided that I didn't really click with anyone I met out here so we kept the band alive (recording sending over stuff to each other via internet) and we're almost done recording an album.

Sometimes if you think they're your friends, it's just best to tell them what you think and try to reason with them. Be honest and open about it, IMO.

Thank you brother. Ill take whatever mojo you can give me, cause Im going to need it. :D

Its going to be hardwork, especially considering the drummer has never played the material. But with how simplistic my songs are, and the quality of the drummer, it shouldnt be too difficult. Im just stoked to hear my music with a B3 and Leslie speaker over it. Thats going to be killer!

That's so fucking amazing, Shea! Congrats!!! :2thumbsup: Enjoy all that equipment and environment plus bring a fucking camera/videocamera with you. Good luck.

Steve, that's a very very nice thing to do, man.
