So I brought a half stack to my apartment

Don't spray contact cleaner into the tube socket. Spray it on the tube pins and then work it in and out. Like sex. Straight up unadulterated pure no holds barred Mesa Boogie Mark IV sex.

You could also trade me my Peavey OG Vypyr Tube 60 for now and I will take care of your Mark IV.

Um. No. Using an 85w head into a 4x12 in an apartment is a terrible idea. I'd buy a modeler, monitors/headphones and call it a day.

I do have a Boss Katana 50 mkII combo and it sounds pretty good but I don't really like the sound through headphones, especially the high gain tones,

Too late, i already sprayed the contact cleaner in the sockets, I don't see it being an issue, i obviously waited till it evaporated before turning the amp back on. Didn't do any damage, it's running nice and quiet now.

No thanks on the Peavey, lol.

I would be shocked if you don’t get noise complaints within the week if you really do play it at band volume. That amps punches even at low volumes so it is not a dire need to crank it.

You know.... my amp kinda sounds like shit in this small apartment. I gotta reajust all my settings, use the pull presence mode, do a bunch of different things to get a clear sound here. I think it's the reflections... lack of a carpeted floor, lack of furniture? etc... for the sound to absorb, IDK... just a guess. Maybe the tubes are going??

If you’ve ever gigged you should know this is what happens and why I find it silly people stress over the smallest things. Your rig that sounds great in a fully carpeted basement isn’t gonna sound the same on a big open wooden stage

I've gigged many times before and I know every stage sounds different, but this is just drastic. It sounds like my reverb is on but my amp is rackmounted without a reverb tank, lol. I gotta turn the bass way down to get clarity. Oh well. I got it sounding pretty good at the moment.
