Asked him about his sig on the chasis.
He said he signs everyone before they roll out the door after he tests them.
He asked about what I play....etc.... if I am worried about a clean channel....
After I explained.... he said "Cool I know what your looking for" :D
He is ready to take on new amps. So go out and snag one.
Said once he retires.....he will still mod.... but prices gonna go up.

There ya go Stephen. Know you plopped first dibs on mine....
But....
Pretty sure I am gonna keep it. Make a nice pair with my modded recto

I still have my IV and Tremoverb. I think your pair with a ABY pedal would be a perfect rig. Besides Randy is working on a perfect amp for me. Who am I kidding .... I want them all...

I am still surprised how customer friendly Mesa is. Calling up customers to talk in depth details about what I sent and what I want. Again.... felt like I was talking to an old buddy.
Not one of the main guys from Mesa

Mesa has pretty much always been that way. They love amps and people that love amps.

Don't they ever! I don't want to sound like a typical internet "fanboy", but they have never let me down when I have dealt with them.

When George worked on my Nomad (I know, not a favorite among forum member, but I somehow ended up with a very good one. It complements my Mark IV very nicely), he fixed the issue I had, and then took extra time to address some other things. He told me about them, but I don't remember them causing the price to go up. Excellent work.

Plus, when I did call in on the amp, I don't remember exactly who it was I spoke to, but we spent probably a half hour discussing how we used the Nomad. Turns out, they had a good one too and used it for keyboards! That was the most fun I had talking to a manufacturer since Dean Markley called me once.

PS: I did do a "fanboy" thing. When I sent it in, I asked Rich if he could get Randall to sign the chassis for me. Unfortunately, Randall was not in the factory that week.

Still have my '86 MkIII 60w no GEQ, just bare bones. I did the R2 vol mod myself. Had the reverb Trans replaced and new cap job. Tun it through a EVL 300w BLS speaker. Miss my Bog 20th

I told Mike B I don't use reverb. He told me about the proper way to deal with the reverb tank
Just a very very great experience so far.

Something I've been playing with on my Mark III- Diming the presence, and pulling it back with the GEQ. Kind of gets that John Sykes vibe.

Agree that the MKIII reverb really isn't that great, but Mike's reverb mod makes it bett"er".

I had Mike go over a MK III Red Stripe Coli for me a few years ago. Bought it used w/issues and sure enough, someone had it royally screwed up,all kinds of junk mods and cheap parts thrown in it..Mike did the same to my coli as he is doing to yours(but different mods of course) and said it would be like brand new again..and lo and behold he delivered....its a beast of a monster..Mike also sent back all the aftermarket junk parts that were in it..darn near a half a milk carton of debris..BTW, I love the R-2 vol mod,& rev mod on it.....you are gonna love it !!!!

As far as reverb I never use it. Just a little delay.
So he said up to me if I wanna connect the tank.

Yeah can't wait to check this out. :D

I've had 2 tanks go out on mine. I'm getting a MOD reverb tank this time.

FYI I think Izzy Used a MKIII with Gibson 175 on AFD. Blended well with Slash's Marshall.

I've thought about getting a fully loaded Mk III but have read Mike B said there was something about not having the GEQ that seemed better. Maybe that was the Mk II  so I just use a sniper mod ge7 in loop or front.

I'm getting a collection of delay pedals but still like the mini TC HOF for verb. I usually set the Mesa verb knob about 2-3 when I use that.

Mike said If I wanted the ++ mod that its recommended to have the Graphic EQ and simulclass.
Said mods can be done on amps that dont have it. But they will be a little different.
