Kind of cool but is there a bad thing to this I am missing?

They've noticed you participating in the recent Dumble / Ford threads over at TGP and have pegged you as a cork sniffer. Your Sweetwater polishing rag and sample of Sweetwater Manjuice Ultra Polishing lube are on their way

You saw that huh :D I got out of there as it is not my place to start crap with the paying customers there and also I want to really rail one of the guys in that thread

Steve, that sucks about them not wanting to work with ya price wise. That was one big freaking order that they lost!

I was wrong about my guy's name, it is Derek Senestraro.

I got free shipping on my $35.99 DVD

My Sweetwater Rep is cool as fuck. I remember I was talking to him about getting a Firebox (Firewire Recording Interface), and four months later, he called me back to tell me they were on sale. How cool is that?

So I ordered my n00b Cubase training disk and I get a call today from Rich saying he is my Sweetwater connection  All email will go to him, he has background in production, asked what I had, what I did, etc.

Kind of cool but is there a bad thing to this I am missing?
Hit redial and call him back...tell him you were thinking about him. :emofag: :grim:

...but in all seriousness, this is the reason I stopped doing business with Sweetwater, I don't mind an occasional call once in a while, but they really crossed the line. I think that this kind of company approach is embarrassing for sales guys too, but apparently they make them do that. As for discounts, I've been offered practically at every place I shopped at, excluding places like musiciansfriend of course, where I may buy some strings

I liked the candy though ...... :D

I think it's more or less a courtesy call, making sure you're happy. I was kind of suprised to get a call after buying a Roland Microcube from them, he was pretty cool though :).

The only time I got a call from my sales guy is when I posted my thoughts on the place on HCAF...Funny enough, I got a call that day, so they seem to troll boards to see what people are saying about them.

I know a few people who work/worked there and they really don't have nice things to say about the owner/management. My experiences there were pretty bad and I vowed never to shop there again. I guess I just didn't spend enough money there. Plus, I lived 5 minutes from the place, they had a "showroom" (this was their old location) for the public, etc., and they still HAD to ship the amp head I bought at a price of 89 bucks. After paying sales tax for living in the same state, the ludicrous shipping price to ship it 5 minutes from their door and the subsequent load of shit I received from Sweetwater, the place is a joke to me.

Its because Sweet Water is the bomb and they literally whip out the hang low and piss on all the competition.

That's priceless! I miss hangin' bro... rarely do I get to hear "hang low" randomly in conversation anymore. :D

Well, if it ever starts to bother you that Rich is calling so often, just give Jcoopercameron his direct dial. Rich will quit his job in 4 hours, tops! :D

I don't mind paying a little bit more for excellent service. I actually don't mind the phone calls every once in a while. I've purchased from alot of different online retailers and Sweetwater IMO is the best bar none.

The calls do sometimes get a bit annoying, I wish my guy would just e-mail me back and forth.

I do much prefer them to the giant that is Musicians Friend, which I try to avoid if possible which is getting harder since they bought Woodwind and Brasswind....

I call my Sweetwater sales guy sometimes just for the hell of it or when I'm lonely.

It is somewhat fulfilling, isn't it?
