This was recorded so low with my PPIMV I had to completely crank my mic pre to get a signal to record. Beyond bedroom low volume... Sounds pretty Marshally, no?

Some of the typical mid-higher frqu. are caused by the PM circuitry of course - and my guess is that you've used GBs, right?. I had probs with (tried most PPIMV variants in a 1970 Superbass with 22nF PI caps) the bass/bottom and its flubbyness - and I've used less treble but more presence.
