Some guy tore into me on Youtube...

I have pretty thick skin, that's why I keep posting. One of the videos he commented on had three positive comments, and then he whipped his d*ck out enough to convince people like @shredi knight that, hey, this guy with the exercise videos is onto something.

I do hope people also got the pointed references to "doing the splits" for his Golden Shower Gods. I won't be intimidated by people who keep play E notes and then pay for social media likes.

The question was rhetorical, btw. I know how many detractors I have. I would love to have a "show me your guitar playing" p*ssing contest. But that guy had exercise videos so it was obvious it was an account created by some Ole Assole or the other who wouldn't be able to keep up.

Well, he might be onto something if he actually had a video on his channel of a women doing the splits.

Seriously though, I'm just fucking with you about all of this. Who cares what some random, anonymous asshole on YouTube thinks? You're better off just not responding to shit like that. He just wanted to rip on your video, under the guise of giving constructive criticism, probably to just get a reaction out of you. I watched that video and thought the playing and tone sounded really good (he might of had a point about the drums, though 😉).

I agree, i wouldn't take any criticism to heart - honestly, I would be glad some random guy took the time to watch my youtube video in the first place. It's hard as hell to get anyone to pay attention or care, positive OR negative, without doing some obnoxious trendhopping, EVH fellating, or engagement bait.

Drums were Superior Drummer loops, I would have loved to see the musical expert's drummer play them. In reality, it's a scratch track that I wanted to record a section of the song with so that I remember the song and structure years from now when I run out of ideas.

I know with all the crazy (and I do mean crazy, many of the guys doing this professionally have mixing and mastering teams) production out there, it's not likely to make me famous.

I just like sharing ideas and the small bits of music I'm doing, I don't really think that videos of someone without lighting and makeup and AI really cut it myself. It's all about the smoke and mirrors nowadays. I get some nice responses or people liking my videos on forums and sometimes on YT.

But just to be clear, I've been subjected to a pretty brutal pattern of attempted bullying, which has followed me into the real world. And I do know where it's coming from. A bunch of Indians in particular, and a small group of nepo babies. People may dismiss my constant complaints about people coming into my house as soon as I walk out and the water smelling, but I have scars all over my face that tell a different story.

Thank you for the positive comments, I really appreciate it. As I said, I have 40 subscribers on my channel. I don't do this professionally.

I could respond in kind, you know, create fake accounts, bombard people with hate messages, rag on them. But I don't want to be a cyber bully, the stats show that many people are affected by this with real world consequences. And I could be pretty damn funny and creative when it comes to that kind of systemic abuse of anonymity on the Internet.

In that regard, do remember what I said about the Indians and nepo babies. I used to hear things like "too old" and 20, get advise about how technical people are playing when they're really just a bunch of deadheads, and how I'm quote unquote "crazy" because who'd go into people's houses when they aren't there.

I apologise to anyone who thought I was crying about it. Metal's such a small genre these days, and it's specifically because there are people trying to gate keep, and lying to do so. No one will see the video, because it'll now be buried by the algorithm, and they know that.

It's a conscientious decision, I'm not some attention wh*re. Really, I just do videos with no talking or interaction and I have a resting b*tch face that turns people off. If people get ideas or some clues about gear they're considering, I'm happy at a job well done.

I don't take anything to heart, rest assured. With stuff like ChatGPT, the trolls don't even have to try anymore. Create a simple bot that poses a question, copy the answer, and sink many ships.

And that isn't just me. It's a whole lot of people who aren't related or known by our tech overseers.

That's kind of why I posed the question, but it was rhetorical and I guess this thread shows that everyone knows about the dudes who are trying to paint some kind of distorted portrait of the world where a guy who posts the first videos of the Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ RI gets less hits than people who post about it weeks later because they got free sh*t and now have to shill it.

Who would you trust? The guy who paid for it? Or the shill who got it for free?

Hey just wanted to remind everyone to subscribe to my YouTube
Thanks .
But ya that guys just a bitch

There are multiple, multi-page threads about me at the alt RigTalk forum I glanced at the first day I was alerted to them and haven’t been back since. At face value I find it laughable, but digging down a bit I feel the same pity I do towards people with mental or physical issues that will prevent them from experiencing life the same way a ‘normal’ person would.

It has to be a fucking miserable life finding enjoyment in that kind of activity. My assumption is a lifetime of unhappiness, continuous failure to meet personal goals, lack of self-respect and a bleak outlook on the future is what creates that kind of mentality. All that shit creates the victim mentality because instead of just being honest and saying “I didn’t put enough effort into my life” it’s a million times easier to point a finger elsewhere (while the remaining fingers are pointed right back at the person pointing) while pretending you were “cheated” out of something you never earned to begin with, while lashing out at people you don’t even know on the internet, but believe were not “cheated” out of something.

In this case, I’m the big bad gear forum conspiracy guy, running all the big gear forums that have banned them over the years. Or I’m MonkeyMan, or MonkeyMan is me and we’re both Scott Peterson? I didn’t read enough to find out, but it’s the same victim bullshit and the internet drive-by shitslingers are cut from the same clothe, it’s just people unhappy with their lack of fruitful output in the world. I got too much shit I want to do with my life and not enough time to do it to give them more than the time I already have.

I just don’t get people who post content merely to get a reaction out of others. What a sad, pitiful existence.

Yes, I've heard these types of people have no friends or family and live alone in a cabin somewhere.

i get pissed off at the lack of criticism of the all the clips i post :dunno: i mean i know i kick so much ass its hard to say anything bad, but come on dudes, the reason i post shit most of the time is to get honest feedback. this is why so much music sucks these days, people need to be told "do better" as labels and producers used to do without feelings getting all tender

I always try to keep in mind, “it’s easy to tear something down and destroy it, it’s hard to build something”. That applies to anything, including making music or videos or whatever.
