This, it blew a fuse for a reason tech

And just replacing the fuse isn't going to solve that
The reason could easily be short or partial short in a failed tube though. If he replaces the fuse and swaps in known-good tubes and it doesn't function correctly or blows a fuse again, then there's a reason to dig deeper. But I'd say 50+% of all power tubes I've had die took a fuse with them and none of those required amp repair.

That may well be, but especially with a PCB amp i would at the very least take the chassis out and visually inspect that there isn't any discoloration from heat or anything - by just shitrolling a new tube without checking youre taking your life in your hands, especially with an ENGL

I guess. Doesn't hurt to look as long as you don't touch the spicy stuff :D

You'd hope the traces are sized such that they survive a power rail current that blows the fuse. But as I said I don't know shit about ENGLs other than that they're the amp equivalent of wearing an Adidas track suit to church.

They are like the Alfa Romeo of the amp world

They do everything they are supposed to when they work, and even put a smile on your face; but the build quality is incredibly suspect and the customer service is non-existent

They use incredibly cheap, thin PCBs and are famous for having a laundry list of issues with various models throughout the years, as well as completely ignoring everyone who buys their amps and ends up having one of those issues

They sound great though, no doubt, and when they are working and right they are great. When they are working and right

Yup. Friend's amp blew a fuse. Power tubes were cooked, as was the board. Badly. Not an ENGL, but still a consideration.

Engls build quality shortcomings always seem to bubble up after some time. Some might say no more than other brands so YMMV.:dunno:

I agree. Amps can have issues. I've had my fair share. Even my Engl Savage had a relay go bad. My Dover came new with issues.

Good luck bro, Last 2 years i went thru 2 engl savage mark 2s both boards fried both mid shows. They sound great but the build quality i have no luck with them
I bought an SE back in the day. Stayed in my home studio. Never moved. Board fried one day outta the blue. TERRIBLE build quality! I don’t know about now but back then there was literally no customer support. Sold it for $1500 as is “dead”. Nice 3k loss. Thx ENGL.
