We had one of these Jake E Lee signatures come in at a local shop, but I haven't had a chance to get in and take a look yet. It's 6.4 lbs which is a little light, I like a bit of weight on my strats, but if it's resonant enough who cares.
It has everything I like (almost), hard tail, white/pearl, rosewood board, volume knob slightly out of the way. The only thing I don't like is the medium jumbo frets as I prefer jumbo, but not a deal breaker.
Hoping to try it out next week and see if it's better than the MIM San Dimas HS HT I have

I recently bought a DeMartini Snake...its quite flawless. Definitely one of the nicest super strats I've even owned/played. They are pricey though...

Just to chime in on the Pro Mods -- I've had the US & Jap models. Hardware on teh US is better, but I thought the fretwork on the Jap models, along with the rolled fretboard edge really kicked ass. The crap they used to "tint" the neck was not up there on my "TOO COOL-o-meter" though.

I got the bug good after getting one of the newer MIJ pro mods. Played and sounded so good, I thought it would be easy to find another. I went on a buying spree. 6 more MIJ, 3 MIA, and 4 custom shop later, and I still haven't found one I like as much. It's pretty plain looking, but what a great axe. The cs were nice, but used, so I never had the experience of a custom order. After my experience, I vote you play as many as you can. There are gems and duds at every level, the odds of a gem probably just get better going up the food chain.

After trying so many Pro Mods, I think its more the mojo factor. They are great guitars for the price, perfect backup guitar, but I think it's the "cookie cutter superstrat" feeling I get when I try one that puts me off.
I think I will probably just stick to my Fender HSS American Special and mod it to my liking like the good ole early Charvel days

I'm interested in how the Jake compares to other Charvels as it is my first of the marque
Initial findings are I find it bright and powerful due to the JB and have to adjust my picking to stop hitting the lower portion of the forward slanted middle pickup - no big deal that.
My collection of super Strats all have at least one tone control to allow balance between the bridge and other pickups. Without this on the Jake, that balance is down to the unusual ceramic single coils and player touch. Not spent long enough with it yet to say whether it works or not.
