I certainly have my opinions on the speakers, but I will say I came in here for hot Vox favored content and got this shit. And reviewing the bidding The Kid is not the one responsible.
Yeah honestly looking at the range and seeing some options..... The Hot Cat 50 looks good but I already have a Lynx 50 and that is probably as good or better for high gain....

May check out the 20 watt Black Cat.... It looks amazing and sounds excellent 👌

Would be a step up from my AC15C1 for sure or for anyone looking at an AC style amp this or the 30 watt version look amazing and for the money and quality an outstanding value Built here in USA and SoCal *_*

Kid - do you have a culinary degree that says you’re a chef? If not, you’re a “cook”. Nothing wrong with that, but let’s avoid the culinary equivalent of stolen valor.

Does it take skill to make a good pizza? Sure… Does it take significantly more skill to run heavy equipment and avoid things like underground utilities? Or overhead utilities? Or any number of other things? Yes. Given the right bucket, I’m guessing Floyd could rotate a pizza like he was using a peel.

And, for whatever it’s worth, I have a few knives (“chef”, cleaver, Santoku, etc.) that each cost a more than a pair of the 25W EVH speakers. They occasionally get dull. Fortunately I haven’t blown one 🤣

Not as stupid as you but close
You’re the only moron I’ve ever seen die on the hill that a blown speaker can fuck up the amp.

Can you point us to an example, ANY example of someone blowing these speakers ?

I'll correct you on a minor thing with Chef. You don't actually need a culinary degree to have that title. You can start at the bottom and eventually work your way up. That said Chef is reserved for the one who is head of kitchen operations which entail creating new recipes, designing the menu, ordering, equipment maintenance, and other such duties. Everyone else in the kitchen does what the Chef tells them. Well, other than the Sous Chef which can fill in for the Chef on most duties, but won't implement new recipes or menu changes with the Chef's approval.

I know this from working in the restraint industry for a bit before I started my career. At the little place I worked at I was promoted to Sous Chef by default when the current Sous Chef left and no one else in the kitchen wanted the extra responsibility.

Anyway the point of all this is Kid in no way holds the title of Chef and takes on all kitchen operation responsibilities. Dude's just a line cook that puts toppings on pizzas.

You keep claiming "facts" that a 50W amp will blow up when connected to a pair of 20W speakers and it's the opposite.
Even IF those speakers would blow up (which they most likely won't...) the amp will see a load. So the amp survives.
Blowing speakers can put the amp's output transformer at risk depending on how they blow.

This shit's like race cars. There's nothing other than good judgement that keeps you from having a car with Lamborghini power and a Miata driveline. There's whole websites devoted to the pursuit of that shit. Will the car just break? No. It's even likely to be faster than a real Lambo until the aero kicks in because Miata parts are light. Is it going to break eventually? Depends how you drive it. When it breaks, is it going to break in a way that takes other shit with it? Maybe, maybe not. Racer's luck.

Would I recommend you have a 600hp engine and a 250hp driveshaft? Also no.

All very insightful information from some lunatic and well to do know it all who can't even use a knife correctly or as good as he pretends to relative to actual professionals in a kitchen..... Or isn't even a Pizzaiolo, has been one, ever was one or has the same experience with Neopolitan pies and knows nothing about anything......

Who advises people misuse and mishandle their rig/gear.

But nvm him and his BS..... This thread is about Bad Cat amps.

Elaborate how a speaker blowing can fuck up a tranny ?

Speakers can and often do blow "open" (infinite resistance) and depending what other speakers there are and if they blow too it can be the same situation as running an OT with no load.

Only if the amp is kept running at high volume after it blows. In other words if you’re a dumbass.

Which would explain why the kid is so focused on it.

Yeah and only a dumbass would listen to you or others here advocating for the misuse and mishandling of speakers and amps......

See how that works :p

You're literally going to be playing at high volume at the point it blows. There is a risk. Now, I'm not telling you not to take that risk. Unlike the Miata's driveshaft it won't catapult you into the next county when it breaks. You'll just be out some money an some aggravation. But if someone asks, I'm certainly not going to recommend a setup with issues like that.

Good info - noted 👍

In a 4x12 at 16 ohms, all speakers are 16 ohms. Remove one, and you have three at 16 ohms. That is 16 ohms. There is no danger of blowing a tranny, unless it is friday night near disneyland and you are named Daniel Rios

But
1) such an extreme difference is not being discussed here
2) the car comparison is moot since the original situation that sparked all the BS from the man-child was the 100W EVH amp (which, as we all know is not using its 100W power section like a 100W vintage Plexi would) with the Fender/EVH designed AND approved *matching* 100W 4*12 cab, which contains purposely mislabeled 20W EVH speakers. Modern speakers...
3) no one in their right mind will think they're entitled to a replacement product after actual 'misuse' and 'mishandling' of said product. Hell, warranty legalese is riddled with exceptions, specifically pertaining to that!
So either he needs to change and nuance his wording, but then, without the hyperbole, he can no longer dig his heels about "Jim/Celestion not providing warranty.. after misuse..blah...blah blah, FACTS".
But he dug his grave with BS, regurgitating the same crap, clear for almost all to see. Hopefully that soon changes to all. 😉
