I've sold amps simply because they didn't get along with Vintage 30s.

“Back to Black from AC/DC”? His next video in a year and a half should be “The secret to nailing any Album Title”….LOL

Watched the first 5 minutes or so. Not going to rail on the guy, but is there a big push for Nirvana tones? I don’t know that I’ve ever heard of anyone really searching to get that and not sure it’s a good example that amps don’t matter.

He had a great camera and shoots videos edited well.

his point is if you want to sound like whichever artist start with what speaker they used, Nirvana wouldn’t be my first band to prove this point but I agree with what he’s saying and don’t think he did a bad job demonstrating :dunno:

Speakers and speaker cabs are super important. This is why I have always had 8-10 4x12's loaded with different speakers. Want a completely different sound with the same amp, change to a different speaker and cabinet. I've been doing this for decades.

The key here is "different sound with the same amp." That's is absolutely true. But the amp still matters.

Ain’t gonna lie. It almost brought a tear to my eye when he said it. I’m old enough that a young guitar player can’t even remember the name (with the Internet and having watched his footage how many times when editing?) of one of the greatest (and maybe biggest selling) hard rock record of all time.
Also admit to being jealous of how quickly young people get savvy to video making now (makes sense really). I have enough gear where it could be a fun hobby to make some videos on it but the thought of trying to put any money in the cameras, lights, diffusers, background aesthetics, my face and try to learn video software just makes it a hard no.
Their production values far exceed their knowledge, experience and opinions….lol

The whole "only speakers matter" thought process is just a retarded cop out by kiddos and bedroom shredders as they can't afford good sounding gear.

Same people who unironically watch Glenn's videos.

Speakers are very important, but like @TheGreatGreen said, the amp is just as important though. Decent video, but the guy is short-sighted. He's tried a Randall SS amp and a few Fenders. That's not a lot of experience. Good luck getting a Fender Chanp to sound like a Diezel Herbert from a speaker change lol
Yes, put same amp through different speakers, get Different sounds. But, not the only thing. I just found it amusing he was so positive that amps didn’t matter.

you mean it doesn't come in a pedal I can buy?!

that's a fail

:poke:

He's been playing guitar a year and a half and owned three twin reverbs LMFAO

This is why people like me shit on YouTubers and bedroom hobbyists
Dude , I really want to like you. But you're not that good. Your Instagram posts are cringeworthy. Get over yourself and your fucking Larry...

It's not about being good, it's about putting time and effort in, and not being a beginner with delusions of grandeur like the YouTuber in question

I'm a bedroom hobbyist :dunno:

Not sure what else I would call myself. Not mad.
And that's totally cool, because you don't lord your opinions around like the guy who's been playing a year and a half and makes a YouTube video saying "amps don't matter"

I stopped watching when he labelled his "super secret" speaker combo cab as a "Holly Grail Cabinet", and then spoke of Angus and the Back To Black album......
