Can get a MINT dual rec multiwatt.

I already have a 50 watt badlander which I love.

Will this be covering too much of the same ground?

Please chime in. Thanks

I had a Triple Multi-watt and Badlander side-by-side for a week. The Badlander does have the signature Recto sizzle on top but the Recto has that big lowend & fat low-mids. I'd say you're looking more at JCM vs Recto with those 2.

Hmm.

So it sounds like it would be worth. Using the MW.

That is a beauty!!!

But, I am in Canada.

So that would be $ 2310 Canadian plus duty and whatever tarrif and broker fees, so deal breaker for me.

Thank you, though.
ahhhhhh OK .....

Can get a MINT dual rec multiwatt for about 1800 with tax and shipping.

Honestly I think having the two would cover a ton of ground with a little overlap. I'm also a big fan of using one main head as the master, and splitting the fx send between two different power sections running dissimilar tubes. Personally I like EL34 to one side and 6550/KT88's on the other, but EL34 and 6L6/5881 are nice too.

For real I'm already thinking of all the options that setup would enable using the Multiwatt as your main amp, and slaving the Badlander's power section to it.

The trick to making it work will be finding the settings for output wattage, channel volumes, fx send level, and global Master on the Multiwatt that all work with the Badlander's fixed 50 watt output section as you switch channels on the Multiwatt.

On my two channel Dual Rectifier Tremoverb that meant cranking the loop send and channel volumes, and using the Loop Active Master Volume (global master) to control the Tremoverbs volume. But I didn't have the channel assignable output or rectifier settings to factor in.

^ Well, since you didn't say anything in the OP about only keeping one or the other, I'd say get it and run it with EL34's for awhile :dunno:

You may find that they overlap enough to off the Badlander and get something else

I know ...... I'm tempted ... I just don't need another amp .

I know right.

I really love the smaller size of the badlander and the two notes built into it just kicks all kind of ass. So I am very reluctant to part with it.

Last thing I need is another amp, but: GAS.

I love mine especially with an OCD type boost in front and a Mesa 4x12 OS cab - just slays.

Same F-d up parallel loop forget using pedals unless you mod it which ain't too hard.

The Multi-Watt I had was a Serial loop & pretty good at that too; not sure if any of the MW Dual Rectos came with a parallel one.. I'd shoot from the hip & say they're all Serial.

Are you drunk posting at home again like you do in OTC, where you just blurt things out?

AI Overview
The Multi-Watt Dual Rectifier (post-2010) features a fully buffered, footswitchable series effects loop. This updated loop is designed to fix the tone degradation issues of older models, offering improved, transparent performance that does not suffer from significant signal loss or tone-sucking, making it better suited for time-based effects.
