wtf . So I go to put it on and instantly heard Ed’s tone as compressed af and smaller , less low end . Put on origional and wtf . Don Landee did great on the others but this tweek was not cool . Ed’s original tone changed too much .

Not going to lie, I generally do not like remasters. I question sometimes wtf they are hearing because often times, they literally take out the meat of the albums. And though I'm not a big fan of Balance, lots of people love that tone and mix on that album, why fuck with it? Money grab!

This is my prob with a lot of streaming. Most just have remastered versions of stuff I wanna listen to. One song I noticed recently is "Don't Go Away Mad" by Crue. The 35th anniversary basically cranks the acoustic guitar and brings Mick's distorted tone way down. That's more of a Remix than a Remaster, but I didn't care for it.

Also, Coverdale did all those Remixes and released em. He basically took all the reverb off the vocals and added new drum samples, not capturing the 80's sound anymore. These things are hit and miss.

I´m not sure I´ve ever heard an album that actually sounds better after a remaster or remix. I´ve always thought it came about as a way to get everyone to buy the same albums they already had on vinyl on CD back in the day, sort of like adding in some B-side or live tune from a single. More action from the back catalogue.
