It needs to be said that most or you guys are a bunch of butthurt, hair splitting, high expectation mothers fuckers that could never live up to your own bullshit...

I'll stick with... Band, great, DLR not so much but it is what it is. I find little fault even being very critical of the band, few small things that any live act recorded and not "fixed" would have. The backing vocals given that MA sang like few can are excellent and show me a lot of work and prep went into their rehearsals. And even of we are critical of Wolfgang's weight gain he does as good a job as anyone could to fill MA shoes.

Really happy for EVH as well, he's still here and that should be a reason to rejoice given his troubles over the years. He could have been another statistic of R&R and he's playing great especially at 60 years old, I mean damn. Honestly at 54 I can't play the way I used to...aches, pains and a little arthritis doesn't help matters much. Enjoy it for the fact is all of our heroes from those days are on their last tours....all of them. And a lot of them are far worse than this....I watched all of the video on YouTube of the Tokyo concert and it's pretty damn good even with Dave's issues. Enjoy one of the last go around for one of, the if not the best rock band ever from good ol U.S.A!!!

Everyone always seems to be criticizing someone else for not measuring up in some way. I certainly don't think EVH, or anyone else really, is above criticism, but it seems like there is never a shortage of people quick to point out even the most minute imperfections while overlooking so many of the positives of a given performance.
Exactly.
You wanna hear it CD perfect? Go listen to the CD.

Yep! Let those guys go out, have fun, make bank, and let's be happy for them. It's the whole "they owe me a performance level of your former self at 23 so I can relive my younger years." BS....that's stupid IMHO.

Sad but true.

While I might agree with the above, it isn't too much to ask a professional musician who commands high ticket prices to actual work on his skills and sing mostly in tune and on key. He does have in ears these days so that's a big difference from the earlier days they toured where perhaps he couldn't hear himself.

Also unlike some other singers it doesn't sound like he's blown out his voice (ala David Coverdale), it sounds like he doesn't work on it, sings stuff he cant hit and barely knows the tunes and the melodies he wrote to the songs. I mean really, if you had a guy come to try out for your band as lead singer and he sang like that you'd take a pass I'm sure. The rest of the criticism I think the above applies.

Thats right RG955TT. For one, almost all bothering to offering an opinion on this are VH fans. Sixstringking713, if you think this crowd is tough, read the comments on YouTube, Blabbermouth or wherever. Van halen aren't going to get a free pass because of old age or anything else. They are professional and should be expected to deliver on that level.
