It's always the same logical fallacies, which is how you know deep down they KNOW it's indefensible

It's sad, i'm not a hair metal guy but I can appreciate the energy and vibe of the early crue shit or the production of the later "kickstart my heart" type stuff (even on kickstart, that is famously a MIDI bass playing the bass line btw)

It isn't that I inherently hate MC or this style of music, it's that this is morally disgusting and they aren't even putting in the effort to play a real show for their diehard fans

Phoning it in has seemed to be the standard operating procedure for what counts as classic rock for almost three decades now. It's easy money for guys who were never very good to begin with so I suppose it helps them uphold their lifestyle addictions. i don’t enjoy watching 70 year olds stumbling and croaking about the stage in 80s garb, painfully failing to pretend like they’re 20. just like i wouldn’t want to see the 70’s era steelers vs the 70’s era cowboys play against each other today, or vicariously watch an 80 yr old henry winkler aka the Fonz try to pick up chicks in his leather jacket. these 80s stars seem too vain and greedy to admit to themselves that they suck, thus take advantage of their fan base.

i can respect performers like robert plant that gracefully adjusted with the times as his abilities changed, and i get the ozzy and ritchie last hurrah type of event.

anyone can enjoy/play/gig as long as they are able and still be respectable, but true rock and roll is a young man’s sport.

Tom Jones is an insanely good vocalist. Never cared a lot for his music but man the dude can sing. Another guy who really retained his vocal chops well is Paul Rodgers.
