that sounds huge man! ive loved every clip ive ever heard of a TOL100, ive yet to have the chance to play one.

the TOL 100 has a sort of sentimental place in my tone world, but i honestly think bruce has reached new tone levels with the modular systems.

the TOL has it's own great sound, but if you crave more authentic recreation tones from classic fender, vox, and marshall voices, the modulars are the ticket.

john c., bstaley and jdziak have some awesome clips on the egnater forum, and it's cool how john demos more rack oriented clean and fusion sounds, bstaley shows off more of the unaltered egnater voice of the amp, and jd demos some great authentic vox and hard rock tones.

There's some very cool delays/chorus' going on in there Pat. Nice job!

dude i can only imagine how this rig would sound if you were able to record it with your studio setup. i did this with cheapie stuff in my livingroom.

Holy shit does that PCM80 sound freaking awesome!!!!!

The TC1210 was feaking just lush...the 2290 delays were........yeah you get the picture :D

I love the new MPX-1 I scored and imo the verbs are very good but damn that 80

MENTONEMAN OWNS!

thanks brobro!

funny but i really wasn't flipping out at the particular patch i had on the pcm 80. i really spent maybe 5 minutes tweaking a preset i found on the 80 just to make it sorta OK for the demo. a little too cloudy for my tastes.

i have some custom patches i dialed in on the pcm 91 at work over time that i think are way more legit.

out of the 3 boxes i messed with in z's rack, i think the one i'd love to own most would be the 2290.
man i love the sounds in that thing. i may love the eventide h8000 more though....especially the tristereo chorus emulations and choirlike pitch/verb patches

oh,

and Zachman OWNS!!!!!

Oh yes ZACH OWNS!!!!

The pre-sets on the MPX-1 are cloudy as well but the algorhythm is there, I usually hit the decay times to clear it up some.

Wish you had the H8000 as well as that is one box I will never own, even the H3000 stuff is still going for $1200. That price I would go for the processor power of the Eclipse.

This thread reminds me that I need to start one, VST plug-ins vs Hardware verbs and delays but I think I have my answer ;)

That = teh ROKK! :rock:

i'll agree...this rig kick buttocks.

it was really humbling to fire it up for the first time and hear that sound come pouring out. i've become pretty jaded when it comes to tone...but this rig really is special sounding. and i've heard all of zach's previous incarnations of guitar rack rigs which have all been radical, but this bradshaw piece of art is the show stopper.

i can't yet imagine using the full potential of this thing with switching capabilities of up to 4 heads, and not having the H8000 in place either.

not familiar with the mpx-1 but on the pcms, clearing up the clouds usually involves tweaking the Mid RT and Low RT controls, and the sparkly stuff is in the Hi cut, echo, and decay times/room sizes.

i usually stick to hall verbs for gtr, and only use short plate verbs for upbeat pop vocals due to their slightly metallic quality (which i guess goes against the grain of EVH brown sound using plate verbs...)

call me a stick in the mud... :D

and oh yeah, outside of the H8000 which may be the new king of space and time, i'd get an eclipse or axe-fx or the g-force as a stand alone as well...

 i think that clip just hurt a lot of wallets!

damn :rawk:

i hear you

it's really no secret that the grail rack trilogy forever has been the tc 2290/lexi pcm/eventide h connection, and the odd roland sde-3000, dyno my piano tri stereo songbird chorus, tc 1210, and your compressor and mixer of choice.

my biggest question is why it seemed only a couple of rack guys, particularly huff and landau, ever got their rack tones to sing and come alive on record.

however i never felt the same about steve lukather or steve vai's rack sound, and they had basically the same gear in a bradshaw rig.

andy summers, the edge, yngwie, eddie, scott henderson....they all did pretty well with bradshaw rigs too.

 You shredder you. Glad you're having fun w/ the toy box. That Egnater came back sounding REALLY nice. Can't wait to hear some clips when you dial all the goodies in the way you really want it sounding.

Sounds great! Now, for the noob question... Who is Dan huff? I hear his name quite a bit, but I'm not sure who he is or who he plays with. Educate me.

one of the main bradshaw rack /LA session cats back in the early 90s who formed the band Giant and sang lead vocs and played ferocious guitar all over their albums. Their songs were kinda the southern california summer anthems down at the beach.

now Huff is a major player/producer in Nashville, with credits like Faith Hill and Megadeth

Awesome stuff, Pat! There were incredible and huge sounding tones on that clip. The monster's alive, Zach!

Pat, how would you rate G-Force's sound and other capabilities when comparing it to those other units (2290, 1210, PCM 80 and even H8000)?
