RIght? Like I mean, I can do what everyone else is doing and just recommend the amps I own in hopes that other people will validate my purchasing choice, but I don't think that helps the OP if they are actually looking for a specific high gain sound.

Bah. I wouldnt buy either amp i recommended for myself. But the OP gave a price range.

If I were trying to get an amp on a budget, these are solid choices. But either way, please dont get an amp less than 50 watts for metal. You need to get hit in the chest with nasty palm mutes.

PS: There was a point in time where most people would consider Led Zeppelin to be metal Maybe not all of it but they were obviously a huge influencer on the genre.

Look. The real answer is find out what type of tone you like.

If you like Marshall, go MGL, Wizard, Morris, Monomyth, ground zero

If you like mesa, go Mesa, or maybe eddie lenz octane

If you like diezel, go big max, or vh4

Fuck the price range.

The deliverance II in the classifieds is a badass amp. I have played it and it will hold its own against the best amps I have played easy. The seller is trustyworthy and packs amps to survive nuclear bombs
