Egnater Tourmaster, Mesa Mark IV

I have a Mesa Mark III red stripe and it's a monster. I played a Mark V yesterday and walked away thinking "why bother" the lead channel of the III rips the V a new one IMHO.

You should make a clip, I'd love to hear it.

I was surprised with my Peavey Valveking once I retubed it and threw an MXR 10 band EQ in the FX loop. Really nice crunch, not bad for a $600 amp!

My faves in that price bracket are: Nitro, Deliverance, and real sleeper as low as $500, Laney VH100R

Late 70's JMP, both 1959 and 2203 circuits
5150 and its variants
Ceriatone Chupacabra (hopefully, I have one on the the way)

Probably a bunch more, but can't think of any others right now.

Vintage Modern
5150 and JSX
Laney VH100R
VHT 50CL
and I'm guessing the Ceriatone Chup is a bad mofo
Liked clips of the Carvin Legacy

marshall JMP (both master and non master), deliverance, 5150, framus cobra, egnater seminar

I also vote for the Egnater Renegade!!!!!

I played a Renegade yesterday and a JVM 210 today. I think i liked the Renegade more. Not as versatile but it sounded better to me.

Here's my list:

Marshall - JVM, Vintage Modern
Mesa - Mark III, Mark IV, Dual Recto
Soldano - Hot Rod 50/100
Splawn - Quick Rod
Peavey - 5150, Ultra Plus (these two should be a lot less then $800)

Also worth looking into is a rackmounted rig with the ADA MP1 as the preamp and with a good tube poweramp.

How about a Hughes & Kettner Switchblade? I have the 100 watt head and it rips. They have a distinctive crunch tone, but it's a tone that I dig. I've seen these in mint condition for less than $700 on the used market. Four channels, respectable on-board digital delay and reverb, effects loop, MIDI pedal, freakishly loud and yet sounds decent at bedroom volume.

The H&Ks are really quite good... I'd forgotten about those. Sure there's a lot of functions to learn but it actually has quite a good sound, plus it allows for a killer array of tones to be available at the touch of a button.

I have the cheap amp gig nailed.

See my sig.
I have GAS for nothing.

I'll take a used Engl Blackmore or a new 6505 or 6534. I'll have to admit, that I really liked the Peavey XXL amp I had. Better than what you might think and very inexpensive.

5150 is hard to beat for the price. It's not going to last a lifetime though, and I want something that will.

The Mesa Mark IV is a complete steal. Dan, you have to bring your Mark over so we can compare ;)

I actually have sold most of my "cheap" stuff, because my expensive stuff (Fortin Cali, soon to be Fortin Natas, Baron K2) are all hand made monsters, as well as my incoming Bogner Ecstasy 101B :)

I have my 5150 III and Mark which you can get used for cheap, and they both rip. I'm so thrilled with my Mark IV its out of control...

I have 3 newbies I am really surprised of
powerball v2
blackmore
and really weirded out by liking the stiletto deuce 2
bpought the bias mod i liked it so much
renegade mmmhhh all fender supersonic stuff esp..
