The Ernie Ball Slinkys have always worked for me. .010 to .052 in E standard, .012 to .056 in C standard.

Kalium, custom guages.
Custom Balanced gauges are the way to go, so awesome.
I used to use Kalium, but I had trouble storing bulk they way they are packaged. I switched to StringJoy and really dig them.
I spend like 2 hours on a string calculator figuring out my tunings before I order lol.

Same here for 5 years  science first, rock the fuck out second haha.

I contacted the stringjoy guy when they first dropped and they didnt have the necessary data I required to try them. Maybe they do now...

How big bulk do you buy, I like hanging my strings. I WISH they still shipped flat in a tube.

Got the Cobalrs on there, and they are pretty good.

Webstrings 9s & 10s for years

Michael, you're a gem, mate. Thank you!

Quick questions:

Are the packs sealed so I can confidently store them long-term? I reckon they should be lest the purpose of buying in bulk be defeated, no?

Electric guitar - Are the nickel-plated steels the "normal" ones to buy (like we're used to)?

Acoustic guitar - Which are the "normal" ones?

Bass guitar - Are the nickel-plated steels the "normal" ones, and should I perhaps go for the stainless steel ones? I figure the stainless ones will hold their brightness much longer, but would they sound shitty?

Thanks again, mate. On my pathetic budget, this is a Godsend. I've "avoided" buying strings and then wearing them out (by simply not playing!) for decades now due to financial hardship. You may have changed the game entirely for me, brother. You rock, man.

I've used regular D'Addario 9-42s for 15 years now and see no reason to change.

16yo-24 Ernie Ball Slinky: Strats
24yo-29 GHS Boomers: Hum-Hum guitars
29yo-35yo Diadarrio: Strats & Les Pauls
35yo- 37yo currently: the Diadarrio NYXL rule!

Elixir nanoweb super light 9-42 for me, i have very sweaty hands, and i destroy other strings in a short period.
I have noticed that coated strings take away from the high end, but a trade off i am willing to take.

What other coated strings with 9-42 would you guys recommend? would like to try something else, i hear Cleartone strings are very good and long lasting...

DR Pure Blues 10-46 for all my tele's & strats.DR Drop Tune 10-46,11-50 for all my metal guitars. Was a big fan of DM.Blue steels too.
