What the hell is going on here?

You guys have convinced me that my six year old daughter is a musical genius. She plays "exactly" like this guy does in the videos. In fact, she is convinced that her music is pleasing and correct. When I try and show her a few tips she scolds me and tells me that I'm doing it wrong and this is how "she" plays it. lol

I guess I'm not smart enough to see the beauty in this type of music - it's too far removed from western sounding music to me. For the record, I'm sure the guy probably has mastered many styles before moving on to this type of music, since he seems to sit there with conviction and play the hell out of it. I imagine that if I listened to it enough, eventually it would start to sound ok and I'd "get" it, not unlike other styles that I like. For instance, how many guys here have tried to listen to Malmsteen when the wife is around and gotten a great response? Sort of an extreme version of the same thing. If someone will listen then he should just keep on it.

I don't want to sit through this kind of punishment to get something new and then be considered narrow minded if I dont like what to me sounds like someone using a guitar like snow shoes.

Really? I don't think so. Honestly, he doesn't really get any better than those videos (that's just how he is all the time), so it sounds like you wouldn't like him period!

I saw these tours .... I do like some of Jakes work. It is the shear lack of emotion that I do not like here. I see this as watch how fast I can type or jump thru hoops. I do like flash ... but to much takes away. Like over spicing food.
