What's a versatile tube amp?

If weight is your primary concern then I would not go with a tube amp.

Randall RM50. Pick the modules you want to match the tone of the gig.

I should have been more specific. I didn't like the jcm2000 and 4x12 cabinet partly because of the weight (i probably should go to the gym), but mainly because it was so bulky. I don't play gigs I just jam with my friends and I want something I can easily carry in one trip. I could handle a 75 pound 1x12 (I think), I just don't want to carry the head, then go get my cabinet, then get my guitar and pedals. I guess I'm just being kind of lazy.

Anyways, I'll probably go to guitar center tomorrow and try out some of these amps. I've been listening to online clips of the Blackstar ht-5 and it sounds amazing. So does the artisan combo but it may be out of my price range...

im half serious here...why not invest in a $20 set of hand trucks...

Einstein is great but expensive. Check out some of the DR Z stuff

Any Diezel will be versatile. The Einstein head or combo is great and covers more tones then you might ever need and does them all well.

The Schmidt is also another great option for you. ;)

Mesa Mark IV

Not only can it cop all the tones you mention, but it's probably around half the price the Diezel.

+1 on the Diezel stuff. My VH4 is like the swiss army knife both in the studio & live.

Egnater Rebel 30 head.

If weight is a primary concern, then you're gonna be hard pressed to find a more convenient, lighter all-tube head than this.

Egnater Renegade could fit the bill.

The 1x12 is 55lb which is pretty light for a 1x12 tube combo. And it sounds great and has (switching) features aplenty.
