What's Your Favorite 6550 for a JCM800?

Where do you get confirmed, healthy GE 6550s?

The usual....ebay, reverb tube guys with good feedback. Or, try some decent used/strong tubes that are cheaper. Just to give yourself a sample at least of what they can do. Then go after a matched quad.

Do they sound any different from EL-34s? I would imagine not much?
I was going to build my 2203 clone with them, but when I looked at how expensive they were I stuck to EL-34s. Plus I had a large stash of EL34s on hand to get my build up and running.

Might be useless info but in my Deliverance 60 the ValveArt 6550 was my preferred tube
