Does a perfekt job in an effects-loop!
The analog and tape delays sound awesome - and it's made in canada :D
BTW, that's a sweet looking little unit!! I've not heard much about these, and just fo'shitz'n'giggles, am going to look into them...

Peace,
V.

I did use the DL4 for years before the empress. The superdelay is definitely one of the best sounding digital delays i ever heard.
There is a rewiew here and some good demoviedeos on PGS or on the empress homepage.
The vintage modified version is the same as the normal one but the tape delay has been changed to be more authentic.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the MXR Carbon Copy yet?! Love mine and would highly recommend it.

I'd go with the Empress Superdelay. I have one and it's awesome. You also can't go wrong with a simple Boss DD-3...
Where you using it in your vh4 demo on youtube?
Anyone have any exemple of it with high gain?

FWIW, those old Binson tape echo units Gilmour used were killer. I still say analog, but that's just me.

using a loop?

why not get an old, cheap rack delay like:

Roland SDE-1000
Roland SDE-2500
ADA S-1000

All three of these sound better than any pedal I've ever heard.

i agree 100%,...there were a bunch of those rack mount analog delays built pretty much on the same platform,..yamaha, etc...

or!!

go big buck and no whammys and get the king of analog delays,...the moog

Im looking at it right now...whats the diference between analog and digital? Ill use it mostly with high gain setting to play Satriani, petrucci, iron maiden stuff

the aqua puss only has 300 ms of delay.

You DON'T want that for Satch, DT, or Maiden.

trust me.

I agree, you want, say a Boss DD series delay.

People I've talked to seem to like the DD-2, DD-6 and RV-5.

I have used a simple DD-3 for years. Sounds good to me, and is simple and pretty cheap.

I cant see $400+ for a delay pedal

Keeley Mod Line 6 DL4 delay or TREX Replica.

I didn't know Keeley was offering this mod on the Line 6. I love Keeley's work. I have had a few of his pedals and all are fantastic.

I may have. I don't remember if it was the Empress or Boss. I can make a clip for you if you'd like. Let me know what kind of sound you're going for and I'll see if I can replicate it.

The Toneczar Echoczar is my personal favorite delay pedal. A little on the expensive side, but it has great analog tone and is built like a tank:rock:

Well i would use it mostly on lead stuff like petrucci-glasgow kiss to have a smooth warm tone with lot of sustain. Best exemple of what id like to achieve, look at this video of Carl Roa...he have an amazing lead tone.

Alright I'll see what I can whip up. Just keep in mind my lead work sucks. A lot. :)

There is a guy on here that mods line6 delays and fixes volume issues also. I can't remember who he is but also has YouTube vids of his mods also.

If an analog delay is making your tone go muddy then you have the effect level too high :dunno: It's supposed to be an echo remember?

Ok. I recorded something with my carbon copy. Im not a big delay guy, just set and forget, so I may be way off on the delay. And also he is an awesome player and much different style, but I tried to get the mood  Oh and my volumes are really low cause teh wife is already in bed

im really likin my memory TOY. sounds great. I have no interest in getting anything else. I also have a BYOC digi delay thats pretty cool too.

primeholy thx for the demo! I think the carbon copy can sound clear enough for my use
