74' 50w Non-master Volume
78' 100W and 50W Master Volume ( clipped bright caps)

All bone stock, except for custom tube buffered effects loops put in.

1980 JMP SuperBass 100watt, which i rebuilt/modified. It now has the Cali Mod, and footswitchable Master volumes.

I have a nice 78 JMP SuperBass 100watt too, which sounds huge. I modified this one too, although i'm still playing around with the mod. It's got potential to be better than my 1980 JMP, as it has even more headroom/bigger low end.

These days it would be my THD Series One Plexi .... made by the other Marshall .... Andy.

My taste is for any single channel 800 and all the single channel amps that came out before that.
I had a super lead in the late 80's I miss from time to time. You know how some amps are just magic.

Marsha. The amp takes out all the things in the Marshalls
that I've had issues with and adds the perfect tone and feel.
The marsha is in a class all of its own.
Highly recommended!

this marshall is my favorite. it has a master volume mod (i dont know if its pre or post) but is otherwise stock - it sounds just like van halen I.

the guy wants $1600 for it at the vintage guitar show thats annually held on the east coast each year. if i had enough money i wouldnt care about the price, the tone this amplifier can get is one of a kind. ive never heard or played another one like it.

I'd like to know more about this amp - is the owner a dealer? Do you have any contact info for him?

that picture is like like i mentioned - about 3 years old - as of 2 weeks from now.

no contact info, the guy was a dealer but was self employed and sold only personal items or high-value items like rare washburns, vintage old cabinets, and a few other old old marshalls. he comes to the annual shows when he wants, he isnt always there. im not even sure if he still has the amplifier - it might be gone. i will know when i go to SC in a few weeks for the show.

there was one right next to it that sounded good - more marshall-isk type tone and was a 50W, but i dislike the headroom of a 50 - this one was a 100W and sounded way better than anything ive heard on this forum in a while and way better than any 5150 ive ever played. id own it in a heartbeat :)

Thanks for sharing your 3 year old amp porn with us, glp. If it were a hardcopy I'm sure it would have some stains on it.

im not a marshall expert, but i have seen alot of pics of them on here. and i havent seen many that old without the tremolo and still be an original JMP 100W.

i can help rub in the pain by saying i would choose this marshall over all bogner's, friedman mods, herberts, fortin content that i have heard (so far), splawns, and any 5150 i have ever played including my own.

the only amplifiers i could go hand in hand with would be ENGL content against this marshall.

STOCK that amplifier sounds amazing. van halen I all day long with the volume turned down to talking or above talking level. jack it up just a bit and it turns into this transparent wall of just pure in your face..... tone. for a lack of words. with the master volume mod its just nothing i have ever experienced on any other amplifier, let alone any other marshall. a stock vintage modern has nothing on this amplifier, id almost say a DSL is close. and yes - its all stock!

imagine boosting the front of it with an overdrive.... jesus yes

its also why i still keep the picture, and another reason why the head alone the guy wants $1,600 cash, no trades

if he would have taken trade for my 5150 II 3 years ago i would definately own that marshall instead and i would not touch it :)

Mine is my Splawn modded Plexi reissue. I only use the dirty channel and it covers a lot of ground. It has KT88s , MMT , 2 overdrives , clean channel, and a solo boost. Really glad I snaged this one , its a keeper for life.

George Metropoulos' JTM 45/100 Plexi Replica as good or better than the real thing, followed by the 1967 JTM Black Flag Super Bass I once had and my '67 Super Lead 10000 series I had back in 1969, then it would be my 1966 JTM 45 with EL 34's I had at the same time as the Super Bass.. :)
