I wanted a hardtail HSS super strat for years but nobody I know of ever makes them. And when they finally do crank one out once every other blue moon, they always seem to be done in colors I have zero interest in.
I finally stopped waiting and spec’d out a Tom Anderson. It helped that I live around an Anderson dealer who always has a decent selection in stock so I got to put a lot of them in my hands and really get a feel for what to go for with the build. Neck profile, fret size, body type, etc.
Here it is. I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s exactly the hardtail HSS Strat I always wanted. The neck and frets are perfect, the body is just slightly smaller than a traditional strat which makes it feel more modern to me, and I even got it in a color they’ve never done before, Firemist Silver. It’s basically almost the same as Inca Silver but where Inca Silver is very slightly warmer toned and almost has a “metallic sand” kind of thing going on, Firemist Silver has a bit more blue in it and looks slightly closer to something like brushed chrome.
