Just like it would be against the rules to call a member racial slurs or whatever

But making fun of a famously fruity musician is so obviously in-bounds, it should be self-evident

There's a clear, defined, easy to understand line that everyone gets

And it's obvious why the line is drawn there - that way we get the maximum amount of opinions and everyone can express themselves without bullying or shitting on someone unnecessarily

It's more of a mod discretion thing, but generally speaking that's just how it turns out.

We've never (at least since i've been a mod) had huge issues with fag and homo getting directed at anyone in a malicious way

We have, however, had issues with people using racial slurs (even though most of those members are no longer here) in a malicious way

So it's not that they are different definitionally, it's that they are different in enforcement because of the way the forum behaves

I try to avoid using the gay slurs these days for similar reasons. I have a good friend who is gay, i told him ive probably been called a fag more times than he has since that was the insult of choice of the people i grew up around. Lol

Ironically, not once have we ever had problems with "white supremacists" or neonazis calling people racial slurs - it's invariably been the super Marxist types.

If we had an influx of Christian supremacists or something who really hated the big gay, maybe our enforcement would change? Or more likely, some crazy super commie would harass a gay conservative until the rule changed honestly.

Because that's what the pattern has been, over and over.

I'm glad some of the craziness of the far left has lost traction with the general public but I fear violence will be their next modus operandi rather than just trying to hijack language and culture "peacefully".
