Why do forum members think that saying "ghey" or "gaey" magically shields them from being called bigots?

What I have a problem with is the "ghey" and "Ghay" spelling twist for the word "gay". Why can't we say gay anymore? Why can't we call a person a fag and then hug it out like Bill and Ted?

It's the gradual creep that I don't like. First they start taking away the words. Then they start cancelling people into ruination for using those words. Then they start doing away with historical movies like Gone With The Wind and music like Money for Nothing because no one stopped them.

Eventually, they'll be hauling away people like me to "sensitised", and I'll come out like Ariana Grande with a "Spotless Mind" after going to whatever psychotic facility they have in future for those who don't "support the government" or refuse to be conscripted or who don't fit Shiteratti plans.

Alas, you skipped a lot of context to my latest post. People are still using "ghey" or whatever all over the forum. I find it really strange that they can't bring themselves to say "gay". And I am well aware of how people will twist a harmless OP into some kind of anti-gay or anti-semite thing or possibly both.

I'm not sure it's a generational thing either. There are plenty of old people who also would get upset at a thread like this.

It seems contextual to me. One white dude calling another white dude cracker is gonna be taken differently than a non white person calling a white person cracker but i also reckon white on white saying dumb cracker will induce some level of offense in certain cases.

I think the issue is people using that kinda language specifically to get under other peoples skin...its their right but its a classless trash world way of operating. Down here just using "sir" when talking to another man, and treating that person like a human being, has gotten me a long way and avoided me a lotta headaches though i may have thought a particular person fit a stereotypical profile. I had a job in FL and quite a few coworkers talked that way to each other as a matter of routine. Never understood why black people liked the dude with the confederate and american flags tatted on his chest more than everyone else since a lot of dudes went shirtless at the job so there was no hiding it. Maybe it cause he was more "deep south" hospitality, dunno. Some people love that. At the time fewer people freaked about stuff like that. Just what it was.

California is a long way from the southern US. Some of those areas are a different country by comparison.

I would guess that the people who feel the way you and tone do are mostly not in the south and are mostly associating with middle class white collar white people. Could be wrong I suppose but that generally matches my experiences outside the south and when dealing with blue collar sorts. Labor types generally have coarser language than office types.
