I have never seen ANYONE embarrassed for having great gear on ANY forum. REGARDLESS of skill. I have however, seen people be embarrassed for having run-of-the-mill gear. These boards are partly a cock-measuring contest...

Just an aside, you ever notice how some folks take these super cool pics of their gear? The lighting is perfect, it all looks like a magazine ad... That always cracks me up. Usually the better the gear, the snazzier the photo. Reminds me of guitar magazines in the 80's except it's some dudes basement/bedroom... LOL!

Guys that list every piece of gear they own in their sig lines crack me up.
I got tired of scrolling through the "compensation" and shut off sig lines all together.

Im gonna put every piece of gear I own in my sig. Even the cables on my pedal board and how many picks i have at the moment

Make sure you include the cotton wipes that you wipe your guitar with.
And what blend the cotton is.

So I'm embarrassed that I recently took a family picture of some of my electric guitars....and what's more embarrassing is that this is only some of them, I've been secretly hoarding...I have a problem.

what I find funny is that people find any of the barbs back and forth shocking or unexpected....it happened on HCAF....then it started to happen on here eventually when everyone defected...it's the nature of the beast....sooner or later someone's going to have a difference of opinion or someone's not going to like something that was said and BAM..flame war...this isn't the first time it's happened, even en masse..and it's not going to be the last either...

there's a lot of 'this place used to be so cool and mellow' as if it were immune to what is, I've found to be in my experience, pretty run of the mill, cyclical forum crap...LOL....there's lots of phases....high activity, a lull, a flame war..not always in that order, but it's a good bet that sooner or later the place is gonna explode...

any place that mixes opinion and some semblance of anonymity is going to be prone to it....it'll pass =)

I can't get down with maintaining the status quo, it's up to us to shape the future of the forum, as expressed by brad, we have to make sure that flame wars get stamped out and that differences of opinion stay just that. Or you can just go ahead and accept the view that destructive elements will just have their way with the forum and that's to be expected. I think a good dose of brotherly positivity is what is called for..

nice sentiments..however, blowups are inevitable when dealing with so many opinions and personalities...especially a bunch of guitar players! LOL

A Wolfgang Special is my favorite guitar. Great tone!
I love the light weight, neck, pickups, body shape...it gets the most use.
