Craigslist is great. You've got a bunch of people that are trying to sell shit for much more than its worth and then a bunch of people on the exact opposite side that are trying to buy anything and everything for pennies on the dollar.

Some guy wanted to offer me a "killer trade deal" and told me to call him asap. Normally, I try to avoid doing any phone conversation stuff with people from Craigslist as Craigslisters in this area are either mouth breathing basement dwellers or somewhat normal dudes - its hard to tell via e-mail. I had time to kill so I figured what the hell and gave him a call. His killer trade was a solid state Marshall head (I think it was the MG, the one that is like $200 at GC) with two Crate 4x12's (he told me that they were relic'd from being on the road for so long) for a Mesa Triple Rectifier. He went on and on for like 3 minutes about the killer tone he had with the stack and then went on to tell me how he was filling in on lead guitar for Queensryche and how he'd toured with Metal Church and he played on a couple Sanctuary albums. I asked him what his name was and he laughed and said something like "Don't you know??? You are talking to Blazing Mike Smith!" (different name, but it was something really generic, I checked some metal band databases while he was rambling on and on and I couldn't find him anywhere) and he got totally quiet as if he was waiting for me to get all excited. My reply was "Oh, uh... Cool." He name dropped for another like 15 or 20 minutes then told me that I should bring the head up to his place (40 miles away from where I lived) and after hearing his rig he bet that I'd beg him to do the trade. I told him I didn't have a car and he said "Oh man that sucks, neither do I"

The only thing he was blazing was some herb.

Quite often the same guy too.

I made the mistake recently of posting some studio gear on Toronto's craiglist. Not only did I get some of the most ridiculous lowballs ever, they were rude about it, and so matter-of-fact. One that pissed me off for example, my $1300 Neumann mic. Guy doesn't even say hello, his email is just " $400, you're in Sudbury so you will drive it down here"

Eff me right?

If Neumann's were $400 I'd have a locker full thank you very much lol.

I have a Fender combo I need to sell but I can't bring myself to put in on CL. I know I will get a million calls with super low ball offers and end up cussing people out on the phone... :aww:

I just do it via e-mail. People reply with a crappy price, I don't waste my time.

* '95 or later Chevy S10 Blazer in good drivable condition

That was a good one.....
I was wondering why this request wasnt listed........

"Also willing to trade for Beach front property in San Diego or a small home overlooking on a bluff(Must have a basement)..."

I have had good luck on CL.
I responded to an add looking to trade a 5152 for a XXX. Deal was done. Traded the XXX that I bought from a forum member for $480 , for a just re-tubed 5150 II in mint condish. Also traded my Fireball 60 for a Tremoverb..

I know some of you may say that these were not such good deals, but IMO, I made out pretty good.

I did list a guitar recently and sold it for what I wanted within 48 hrs.
