Cheers man! Yeah the MEATHEADS seem to never pop up. I see the same BONES here and there being passed around, but never a MEATHEAD.

Haha! I understand. We actually do have a couple slots left, which is surprising. Should be gone by tonight though. The Asian market isn't awake yet. They usually buy some it seems like.

How different are these from the Maxwatt amps?

That video clip sounds killer.

I’m curious also how these sound for guys that don’t use 7’s and 8’s?
Do these mainly shine with lower tuned guitars?
I felt the 33 was MUCH better for lower tunings.
It’s hard to take that risk, when pretty much most owners are doing the super low tuned stuff.
Drop c# is the lowest I really play.....
But I love brutal music.

Well said. I only use my grind or 33 when I play lower tuned stuff mainly and even then I have to set my amp drastically different to get the most out of those pedals. Would also like to hear some standard, e'flat or D tunings demos.

I got one from the first round, along with the 33 pedal. I play mostly standard and it definitely delivers. Delivers so much, the pedal is in a drawer collecting dust

Does it sound thin or lack any thump in standard?
I like a lot of thickness and thump.

Not a Fortin fan that metallic sound on the low attack
And hollow mids just sound surgical and cold to me
But to each their own

I don’t think this was a secret at all. I was about to order one and asked Mike where they were shipping from and he told me USA.

Did everyone really expect Mike to be making all these amps on his own? At least he finally got into mass production like Friedman has done.

People wanting Mike to make all these amps are being unrealistic. Just be glad they sound awesome and that they were all delivered on time.

Unlike the Cameron brand which is basically the biggest joke around. Hey Cameron amps learn from Friedman and Fortin.

Rick StPierre doesn't have a problem making batches of amps on his own, not sure why expecting them to be made in Canada is a big request. Especially for dudes in Canada that have to pay $600 extra in fees to receive it.

In Canada you pay sales tax on everything. So he would have had to pay those fees anyway.

I don’t know how Wizard amps actually operates, but I can’t imagine he builds them all himself. If he does that’s great. Maybe where Mike is located he can’t find good enough guys to build his amps. Who knows. Who cares?

Seems like Canada builds some of best amps though. Haha.

I don’t know but they did ship from USA. But I think it makes sense to set up there because there are way more customers there than in Canada. Helps both parties out really.

That’s a big accusation you got there buddy. Fake news.

Hey if you want to wait years for an amp then have at it. We all know how that goes.

Not like you would ever buy one anyway. Just continue buying one cheap amp after the other.

Gotta loves these people who bitch about stuff like this, and then wonder why obtaining Fortin amps was so hard years ago.

Gotta loves these people who bitch about stuff like this, and then wonder why obtaining Fortin amps was so hard years ago.

Thanks for the welcome...but I’m actually an old member from 2012 but that’s ok.

I guess you are implying I am some sort of Fortin damage control? Nah just telling it like it is sir.

You should expect it for the price. Not mass-produced Metro kits.

That’s a big accusation you got there buddy. Fake news.

Hey if you want to wait years for an amp then have at it. We all know how that goes.

Not like you would ever buy one anyway. Just continue buying one cheap amp after the other.

LOL, sorry, no… I was not really trying to imply anything, other then I saw your join date as November 22, 2018… No worries! I thought I recognized your name but it appeared like you were brand new… I got no dog in this race!

I got my hands on one during his first batch, and its not too far fetched to say that maybe he brought them over the border and had them shipped to save money, considering the address where it was shipped from was from a border state.

I don’t have dog in this race either. It’s just funny to me that this is really a surprise. He did a run of 100 amps in a year or so and people think he was suppose to make them all and deliver on time?

Who's bitchin'? We all know your role here, and why. You're his little pitch boy, balls deep, we get it.

As far as my buying habits, and what, it shouldn't be your concern, or duty to clarify. I've bought cheap stuff, I've bought expensive stuff, I apologize if it's not up to your standards. I work for what I buy, while you earn stretch marks around your mouth to get yours.

I don’t think it’s a big deal that Metro is building the amps. I do find it interesting that there is no mention of it on the Fortin website. It’s seems to be a big secret that Metro built these production Meshugga amps. I’d figure they would be proud of who manufactures their product(s) and not casually mention it once in a social media page (I’m assuming that was done). I do find it in extremely poor taste to not warn customers where the amps are shipping from...and I don’t think it’s the buyers “responsibility” to know where it is shipping from. The import fees are extremely expensive and may make a determination on whether certain customers are willing to buy. I would certainly expect a stand up builder to do everything they can to protect their customers from additional fees where possible.

Lol. I’m sure you have the same ethical standards when it comes to buying a Cameron Amp...

Like I said previously, in Canada you pay sales tax on anything you buy. Depending on province that guy in the classifieds will pay 13%. That is no surprise and he should know that.

That’s right, I like when you deflect when you have no argument.

FWIW, I ordered my Cameron CCV directly from Mark on 12/26/2009 and received the amp late March 2010. My amp was made by Mark, not someone else. I also paid $2,500 for it. For me, it’s the best amp I’ve ever owned...and I’ve owned a ton of them.

Not so sure everyone else had that same experience as you.

At least everyone got their amp from Mike.

And I clearly explained to you why the guy in the classifieds pays those fees. Its standard. Made in Canada or made in Pakistan. You pay sales tax.
