1996 PRS Custom 24 value help

Going to look at one local. Has birds..doesn’t look like a 10 Top. What’s the going rate? Don’t trust using eBay to figure out a value. Thanks in advance!

They come with birds now, but in 96 I'm pretty sure they all had dots.

CE's have a bolt-on maple neck, that would be the dead giveaway.

Nice. These are really great guitars for half the price of a CU. I almost wish I bought a CE instead of a CU. Would have saved a ton.

I semi recently picked up a 1997 custom 24 10 top, but since I'm in Canada I didn't want to add what I paid, but I have never seen a CE with birds!! I had a CE a while ago, and really liked it. The maple neck gives them a bit more in the top end which I liked.

I disagree - I've seen plenty of used older CUs for under $1,500 - used older CEs can be had for under $1k.

Any used CE for under $1000 is a bargain guitar. I forgot how nice these play and sound

I have seen a few here, and there, but nothing I would call plenty.

The figures I posted are the general going value. That's not to say you cant find a smoking deal from someone that needs the cash.
