You aren't are a mini UK but you are more like the UK than you are like the US. Higher taxes, strict gun control, social medicine, generally more liberal leaning. I would say the same thing about Australia as well. You both still have members of the crown on your currency. King Charles is technically still your head of state.I should have been more clear. I was referring back to you saying we're British through and through. I agree that Canada is more European than the US but a 'mini UK"? Nah.
I don't think you are any more unified against Trump than Americans were unified against Trudeau or Carney. You just had 25% of Alberta vote to leave Canada. Obviously a large contingent in Canada no longer likes Canada as it is today. The same can be said for many left leaning Americans. I'm sure many of the people in MN and similar places where progressive ideas are popular would love to become a part of Canada. Truthfully, neither of those things are something I'd ever expect to happen. Regardless, in my view, neither of our nations have truly representative governments anymore. And I have to thank Trump for unifying us against an evil that wants to destroy us.
Hmmm, maybe. You aren't are a mini UK but you are more like the UK than you are like the US. Higher taxes, strict gun control, social medicine, generally more liberal leaning. You're mistaken here. First of all neither Trudeau or Carney threatened US sovereignty. It would have laughable. And we don't think that way. Trump's attack on Canada via tariffs had an immediate and severe impact on the election that followed. The Liberal party went from being eliminated as an official party (not exaggerating) to winning the election when the Conservative leader was seen as kowtowing to Trump. It was a resounding rejection of far right policies. Resounding. Shocking really.I don't think you are any more unified against Trump than Americans were unified against Trudeau or Carney. You just had 25% of Alberta vote to leave Canada. Obviously a large contingent in Canada no longer likes Canada as it is today. The same can be said for many left leaning Americans. I seem to be better informed than you are. That's sad really. The canicunts think they know everything about the U.S. and its citizens.
Bigots.
You can't even buy an AR15 there now. Pretty pathetic for a country that is almost entirely extreme rural wilderness.
So will my 50 cal muzzleloader, and? The problem is when a car load of meth heads shows up to my place mistaking me for someone they have beef with my bolt actions or single shots are not what I want to be stuck using. 30 rounds of 7.62x39 as fast as I can pull the trigger makes more sense. My iron will let the air out of anything walking these lands. Bear, Moose, deer, Elk, whatever I choose to hit, will die rapidly.
So, what exactly is the issue?
We aren't interested in challenging your country's title as the #1 in murder among developed nations. You can't even buy an AR15 there now. Pretty pathetic for a country that is almost entirely extreme rural wilderness.
And that happens to you often? You wind up in shootouts? So will my 50 cal muzzleloader, and? It's the Rambo fantasy that many have. And that happens to you often? You wind up in shootouts?

Bigots.
Freedom entails more risk. I don't really expect a Canadian guy to understand the concept. We aren't interested in challenging your country's title as the #1 in murder among developed nations.
There have been some unsettling incidents out here. A triple murder-suicide on my street. Some pursuits of wanted felons. Also, feral dogs are a problem in TX and my area is a known dumping ground for unwanted animals. I actually kept a dog some POS dumped off in the 100 degree heat. Then we had someone running an illegal dump down the street and renting campsites to their meth head friends. Use your imagination. Fortunately the place got closed down and things quieted down accordingly. If you need a cop here they are 15 minutes or more away. And that happens to you often? You wind up in shootouts?
I am not too afraid of that. I am fortunate not to live in the ghetto. So will my 50 cal muzzleloader, and? It has nothing to do with fear, it's about protecting my loved ones and neighbors. See my post, #112. I live in a beautiful area with a rural feel about fifteen minutes from a boom town on the I35 corridor. Even lesbians in Texas pack heat. It's cultural. Understand the context. Do you hear me whining about not needing maple syrup for my pancakes?I am not too afraid of that. I am fortunate not to live in the ghetto.
Probably none but I bought an AK before I owned a 12 gauge since I don't bird hunt. Also functions as my deer rifle. Really thumps them good. Also how many methheads are going to stick around when they are getting fucking peppered by a 12 guage pump action?
What freedoms exactly do you think you have that we don't?Freedom entails more risk. I don't really expect a Canadian guy to understand the concept.
Your government can place certain limits on freedom of speech. You also don't have an explicit guarantee of gun rights. Your use of force laws are also more tightly governed. Judgement by a jury of my peers in a civil lawsuit vs a judge being the arbiter in Canada. As a witness, I can refuse to answer questions in a courtroom under the 5th amendment, as a witness you can be compelled to testify. We have better protections from evidence gained during an illegal search whereas in Canada evidence gained thereby could potentially be used against you. My government cannot take my property without just compensation whereas your government lacks a property rights clause. What freedoms exactly do you think you have that we don't?
What, like hidden away like Australia does ? Actually most of the 70% of guns that were supposed to be turned in but never were are in the hands of biker gangs now in Australia. We have lots of guns. Lots.
The issue is you let your rulers tell you what guns you can have.My iron will let the air out of anything walking these lands. Bear, Moose, deer, Elk, whatever I choose to hit, will die rapidly.
So, what exactly is the issue?
