Amps with their OWN thing going....which ones?

Rhodes Amplification's Colossus H-100. Just tried it with EL-34's. The amp continues to impress....

It's going to be comical to some, considering the Mesa hate, but I vouch that the Royal Atlantic is an amp that has its own thing going. Unlike the Stiletto that is trying to be a modded Marshall, the RA-100 is really a voice that is unique and original. Mix that with the power attenuation that is available PER channel, and the 50/100 watt option (entire amp), and you have one hell of an original amp. The tone is so good. You just need to get some volume behind it -- even with the attenuators on.

I vote the two high gain makers that dominate different and unique. DAR and FORTIN all the way

Most innovative amps imo ^^^

I guess at this point everything kinda sounds like something, but out of what I have played,, to me amps that have there own thing goin on would probably be,
Diezel, VHT, Budda, Matchless, Orange, Bogner, I guess more than I can think of right now,,but all of these are very distinctive to me.

When I read the question....Without hesitation Fortin came to mind.
It's own thing is a very good thing..

I understand what you mean. Although I appreciate the work & effort put into them, I'm not really into the modded Marshall thing etc. I have a stock Marshall JCM 800 and want it to stay that way.

I guess my Mesa/Boogie MarkIV would have its "own thing" going, even though it is the fourth reincarnation of the Mesa/Boogie MarkI. Oh hang on, maybe it won't qualify, because it was evolved from a modded Fender Princeton?

Damn, I dunno then, sorry.

What about Engl amps? They are a bit different. Vox definitely are their own style.

Fortin, 65 Amps and the stuff I've heard from Shaw Audio are, imo, pretty unique and not the easiest tones to cop with just any amp.

Baron amps have a pretty unique feel to them, along with VHT's/Fryettes. Doesn't come across as obviously in clips as it does when you're playing them, more of a feel/response thing than drastic tone difference.

The voicing on Framus amps is pretty distinctive.

IMHO, Framus Cobra. It has it's own very unique sound.

Diezel, unique "hi-fi" clean hi gain sound

I see a lot of people saying Bogner, but for me, with regards to the Uberschall, I don't find it to be unique at all. It is way too similar to a Recto to be unique IMHO.

Bogner XTC

H&K

Mesa Mark V

Roland JC120

Fryette/ VHT

Orange

Dime DT100

Soldano SLO (though it is based on a Super Lead)

Krank Kankenstein+

I don't think the uber sounds much like a recto, at all.

Hmm, my TJ sounds pretty close to my early 2 channel dual, just has more mids than my recto.
