nothing but great things to say about him as a player and a human. met him on the NAMM floor in 86-87 when he was a demo guy for Kramer and just joining Danger Danger. think he was also demoing an amp but just standing on the main lobby aisle by himself/no booth jamming away to backing tracks. insane chops and so nice.

I've seen a lot of guitar players over the years, but when Andy did a little clinic with Robert Keeley at a local store a few years back to debut the Halo pedal, it was probably the most entertained, awed and inspired I have been by a player in a long time. I left thinking "How the hell have I not seen him live yet?"
I saw him open for Uli Jon Roth once and I didn't know much about him other than his name. But by the 3rd or 4th song, I didn't want his set to end. I don't typically like instrumental guitar bands, but Andy can really hold your attention and deliver the goods.

Funny, I just listened to that album for the first time two weeks ago and have been listening to it since. Despite never hearing his music before, I was surprised how much of his playing reminded me of mine with the phrasing, obviously just far, far better.

And I only got a few of his albums because I always love his tones when I see him doing gear demos, that’s pretty much the area I live in when I’m not recording metal stuff.

For anyone that likes good amp sims, I built a plugin to mimic his rig that I'm going to be releasing soon-ish. It sounds pretty spot on for a lot of his tones and the feel is great.

I was there, lol! I have the AT and two Halo pedals now because of that day, lol. You should get a Nocturne pedal. Amazing.

Saw him at a clinic & at a solo gig at small pub. Nice dude, great player

Andy's lead tone is absolute perfection. The biggest eye-opener for me was realizing he isn't getting that ultra-smooth saturation from a high-gain channel switcher. It's all about stacking low-to-mid gain pedals into a pristine, high-headroom clean platform like a Lone Star or a Plexi.

When you stack his signature Keeley Super AT Mod (or a good BD-2) into something like the Xotic BB Preamp, the compressed mid-range chew you get is unbelievable. It stays incredibly dynamic and cleans up perfectly with the guitar’s volume knob.

His keeley AT3 pedal is really good, regardless of who’s sig pedal it is. Really flexible with the switches for diodes and tone stack

Neil Zaza blew my mind in a clinic . He was s good
I saw him do a Hamer clinic when I was a teenager, back when Hamer first hit the scene. Years ago. He was from my home town and was the best thing since sliced bread back then.

The kicker is it’s probably mostly pedal gain and it sounds that damn good. My favorite tone is from the resolution album, but it’s all great.
Lonestar head getting hit with either an xotic BB or a JHS AT. If i played that rig it’d sound like horseshit.

He recorded Resolution with a Plexi. I don't think he used his Boogies in the studio. They were mostly an endorsement deal for live use.

I did see that. I wonder if he parted ways with Gibson.
