Another rig advice topic...help me rig masters!

Are the stars out of alignment or what? That's two topics gone astray tonight and headed down the wrong road in a hurry. While we all like to banter a bit and stir the pot from time to time, it is done in rather good taste between friends. Newcomers to the forum starting shit though with respected members here, or anyone, won't be tolerated. You know who you are and consider yourself warned. This isn't the place to pick your arguments and vent. For those that need to post some clips to prove something, there is a sub-forum for it. For Buckwheat, be careful. It is a free forum and a privilege - and as such, you can abide by the rules, or move on.

Looks like there was a lot of good advice here for the OP. Did you get your question answered bro?

I got a lot of great ideas, that's for sure. Thanks guys! Now I can't sleep! I'm trying to design a picture of my dream rig with some free opensource software.  God, I'm a geek.

Well, its damn sure cheaper to ask now before doing like many did and spend a small fortune, only to have to upgrade or decide you didn't like it! I wish I had known where to ask this stuff before. I wouldn't have a closet full of stuff to sell now.....

I think Zack pretty much has the premier rack and knowledge of switching systems with all the custom Bradshaw stuff and his kit and he helped me early on.

I LOVE your rig man! Looks clean as hell and sounds great! Doesn't hurt that the VH4 is one of my favorite amps.

Thanks for the kind words Steve... MOST appreciated, and in the intended spirit of the forums, Helping each other out-- is the goal. Hell, normal people don't understand what the hell we're talking about as it is, so it's cool to know there are others who get us, and what we're into.

Dave Friedman
Dave Phillips
John Suhr
Andy Fuchs
Alan (Carol Ann amps)
Doug Roccaforte
Mike Fortin
Mark Cameron
Jerry Dyer
The guys from Tone Merchants
Pete Thorn
Andy Woods
Mark Day
Ralph Gainfreak
Kage Gainzilla
Pat Mentoneman
and MANY more...

SOOO Many SMART, experienced guys, willing to lend their expertise to all of us-- makes forums like this and HRI "The" places to be, when interested in cutting edge ways to get things done in a professional way.

I consider myself lucky to know all of you guys. You all help me keep my finger on the pulse of what's new, and ways of doing things that I might not have thought of....

Again... Thank YOU.

I started a thread about guys with PREMIER rack rigs. INSANE pics which I studied over and over again when researching on my current rig's development, before I contacted Bradshaw to build the gear I needed to make my dream rig possible.

Enjoy...

Perhaps a sticky of some sort... It is sort of what Lambos and Ferrari's are to car shows for a place like Rig Talk.

We can call it Huge Racks! Wait, already have one of those sites !!!

I just thought-- a Lambo is cool BUT if it were it up to me, I'd rather have it parked at my house, because that would be cooler than one parked at the neighbors house.. ;)

I'm good with my rack and my friends call it either the "Death Star" or the mini-Bradshaw. If I could get the signal routing worked out between 4 different amps, it would be perfect (for my use). I have a VooDoo labs Amp Switcher, but it's not remote switchable... (I feel a mod coming...).

That's awesome, brother Zach. I'm envious as he is the one guy that blows me away when I hear his stuff.

Holdsworth did a solo on the guy who's singing and playing bass on my album. That's kinda wicked.

Are you serious? Also what's with this "common folk" stuff?

It's either sport trolling or I figure it's Narcissism.... despite a common status...

Either way... I figure he won't last too much longer, before he gets banned. (Again, I suspect)

If this was TGP they would demand he post pics of his 59 burst or Dumble or be banned on the spot.

Anyways I think you're right and I should just ignore the guy.

I never ran a WDW rig, but I ran a simple stereo rig for years: ADA preamp (MP-2 or MP-1 + MQ-1) into a stereo ADA power amp into two ADA 2x12 splitstacks per side. I didn't run effects with what I was doing at the time, but I was considering a rack effects unit when I discovered the Axe-Fx...got the Ultra and ran it into my ADA power amp and cabs a stereo rig then moved to FRFR...then I went another direction...wish I had kept the Ultra....only my primary MP-2 is left, all my other ADA gear (I had a few backup MP-1s and MP-2s; full bass rig) is gone.

Stereo is a nice to have for me, but WDW is very interesting. Be great to hear what you come up with for your dream rig.

w/d/w is VERY cool, ESPECIALLY for those who occasionally or even primarily prefer more of a traditional guitar to amp sound, just bigger-- without screwing up the core tone of the amp.

One of the things I often do is mix dry signal into the wet cabs, in addition to the wet signal.

I run my rig in any of the following configurations: It's all the fun at the fair...

W/D/W
WD/D/WD
D/D/D
W/W/W
W/W
W/D
D/D
Stereo
Mono
