Hey Corey! Did you get your guitar by chance?

Not yet, I was told on Friday that it was dropped off and that it would probably be Monday before tracking would update... tracking still hasnt updated so I am not sure what to do atm.

Yeah "it's going out friday" i.e holiday weekend. So convenient...for "LRC". 3+ days later, no tracking? "Must be the holiday". I'd be damn surprised if your guitar shows up this week. Unbelievable.

I live in the area and am currently in a nightmare with those guys as well. I appreciate they are upfront about how they operate and they have a great reputation for their work, but it’s not worth the hassle. I would never recommend these guys to anybody, and anyone considering them should avoid them at all costs. It’s a shame, I was really excited to have them work on my gear and planned on running 6-7 more guitars through them.
Well that's three satisfied customers so far.....

Yeah I think I’m gonna have to get the ball rolling on small claims court, theft complaint with the county sheriff and PD, and a complaint with the Florida Attorney General at this point. Infuriating. Was gonna file complaint with the BBB but they already have an F rating fml. Hope you get your guitar back Op, keep us in the loop.
It might help if you guys coordinate on that process especially with the theft and attorney general complaints, that way it's not just one lone guy crying foul. The sheriff is definitely gonna want to take action if he's getting multiple complaints from different parties about the same business. Good luck fellas.

How long have they had yours?

Ive been about ready for that option...

I have had stuff from reverb never show up on tracking but the package arrives at my house... thats what I am hoping for right now. But, If mine does show up this week, I don't mind passing along my info/story
I was thinking this. Might want to ask @parr0t too then come monday you could coordinate and LaRCeny guitars out of Orlando can have a fun week of his own "just chill bro your court case will be over soon". Looks like I just pegged them with a sweet new business handle....

Gave it to them in September of last year for a setup and to change some hardware from chrome to black. Literally an hour worth of work. Paid up front in full. Had to go retrieve it from them first week of February due to having to leave town for a few months and it not being touched. Have been fighting for a refund ever since. But they were kind enough to post my guitar to their socials and claim they worked on it lmfao. So almost 5 months for a setup and bridge, tuner change and they never got around to it.

September is when all my issues with them started too. Did you pay in cash or CC?

So,

Today... we found out the tracking issue... they took the wrong guitar to get dropped off, mine was dropped off today and I do have UPS showing they have received it. They opened up the box before they took it and snapped some photos, and just from the photos im pretty impressed with the results, but I will hold the excitement until I have it in hand. Let me see if I can find the before pics.

I just happened to find this board this morning when I was doing a deeper dive into LRC reviews & info, bc what the OP is describing is almost verbatim to what I am going through - right down to having a LP Standard at LRC's shop waiting on a head stock repair since.....May of last year when I dropped it off. Only I haven't received any word of work being done at all.

I was originally told to expect completion in August. I emailed in mid-August just to see if there was any update, got my first auto-reply email. Waited another couple of months...same, auto-reply. Another email in January, another auto-reply. I finally got a response last week when I informed them that we were approaching the one year anniversary of me dropping the guitar off AND pre-paying for the work. Was told that my message would be passed along to RJ and he will be calling me.

I'll be watching this thread closely. Not going to get nasty...yet, but I'd be lying if I said this has been anything but frustrating and inexcusable.

I feel so bad for everyone that has to deal with this shit. There is no excuse.

You are more charitable than I would be in your situation. Bless you. ☦️

I think you should remain in communication with the other three dissatisfied customers. It's beyond inexcusable. I would imagine at some point this thread will become an online repository whose existence will damage their reputation, and tbh, it's deserved. Hopefully together you guys can get your axes back.

Someone earlier nailed the modus operandi - if you're a touring musician, A-list client, anyone with tentacles in the music industry, I have no doubt the experience with LRC is on point.

If you're a "retail" customer, you're more or less just financing their overhead.

And whoever is trying to justify their way of communication being transparent and "exactly what they describe when you drop off your instrument"....go eat a D. Giving someone an expectation for completion of work and missing that by 6 months and counting is NOT at all doing exactly what they say they're going to do. Hiding behind auto-reply emails creates an endless loop of zero accountability. The email literally says someone will be contacting you, but if you're getting this auto-reply nobody will be contacting you". WTF does that even mean?

I've seen the YT videos. Peak condescension.

It's pretty simple really. If you find dealing with retail customers and their ridiculous expectations (like getting pre-paid repair work turned around in under a f'ing YEAR), then get out of the retail biz. Stick to your A-listers. But why do that when you can just take people's money and instruments hostage for however long you see fit, right?

My suggestion is to just check your rage for a little while longer as a couple of the other guys getting burned are probably gonna get the Sheriff and Attorney's office involved. If you communicate with the other parties here, and the Sheriffs office receives multiple complaints from people who have paperwork and documents showing payment dates and how long this has been ongoing, they won't have a choice but to take action. I suspect LaRCeny guitars is going to be having some real problems very soon if they can't straighten their affairs out.

I bet it does look good, even as someone without a ton of experience, I would be able to make that look pretty good. The crack is good placement as far as that goes. Just glue, clamp/wrap, and then drop fill with lacquer and color match where applicable, wet sand a bit, and boom. I was surprised at what just wet sanding can do. Had a really beat up back on an older Gibson. Spent an evening wet sanding it and the back looks nigh on new.

Police are generally pretty useless in these situations.

You could always pay a rig-talk's member air fare to go out there and share your displeasure with the offenders. Though that member could accidentally use your guitar to break over their heads...may be a push.
