What I mean is, do you feel like your fighting with it to get a tone your happy with? Or that it's just not quite right, or ...........

I got an amp I've been fighting with like crazy, it's driving me crazy, I can hear the basic tone in there, but it's just not quite getting me where I wanna be. Even swapped pick-ups, tried Duncan, Anderson, EMG, different guitars, still not there. :bash:

Whats up man, Have you tried adding a little eq in the loop? Boosting it up front to slam the front end or even trying a different cab or two can make a difference. Which amp you fighting with? Best of luck it may take a while but if you know your key tones there, you'll end up finding it, it might just take a little longer. Get a parametric for the loop if the graphic eq don't work, just experiment.

Yeah, thats my next step is to try "adding" to it.

You wouldn't believe me if I told ya which amp it was.

Ive got a Boss eq around here, I'll try that, and a a few boost pedals I can try as well....

I feel ya lol...I guess the main question is what are you trying to do thickening it, add bass, treble, more mids, resonance, trying to smooth it out, add more gain, make it more aggressive etc. At the end of the day your going to sound like you no matter what rig. As long as your happy that's all that matters. Whether its a pignose or a dumble if that's your tone, then that's your tone.

I know Dime was a big influence for you, look at his old rig behind the scenes he had all those rocktron gainiacs, pq3, and all other types of shit, but at the end of the day give him a valvestate mini marshall stack and it'll sound like dime. I guess what I'm saying is you are who you are no matter what, but at the end of the day if you are not happy then you'll hate whatever your playing through. maybe try eqing differently, or even try a hotplate and open that fucker up. That might be all she needs.

I knocked that bitch out. Never messed with me again.

Never. That's the beauty of my Champ. One volume knob and the guitar's tone controls. :)

spill the beans man.......hhehe it's ok if you don't jive with the Cameron :D :D

in my opinion when you have to start changing pickups and trying different guitars and adding EQ pedals or boosts yadda yadda, it's not worth it, I just sell the amp. IMO 90% of the tone has to be there from the get go GUITAR > CABLE > AMP period. and it usually works GREAT with any type of guitar/pickup.

Yeah, I thought about the Cameron attenuator and see how that worked, I can't tell you what is missing, I dont think its gain or aggression, I'm honestly not sure, it's just not inspiring, more frustrating.

My Randall C-200 sounds like God, no matter how you slice it, that amp is balls.

Have had many amps thAt were "almost" there but something just bothered me. Ugh. Usually start with a tube change and see if I can shape the amp a bit that way

In all seriousness, if a smile doesn't spread across your face every time you plug in, it's probably just not your tone. No matter how much you spent on it. :D

  Yep, my dream amp, isn't getting me where I wanna be, as bad as I want it to, it's frustrating as hell, I want this to be "MY" amp, but I'm fighting it everytime I turn it on, I don't understand it.

and yeah, I'm a plug and play guy, Love the VHT UL, Engl Savage, and several others for this very reason, gimme a noise gate plug in and go.........

The almost is worst than the nothing at all amps, at least you can play those knowing its fun to play but not for you, the ones in-between will play with your head, no pun intended

and I will tell you something, I've seen a lot of your videos, and you have "the gift" I mean you sound aggressive through everything you play, so honestly, if you're not jiving with it, then sell it. Cameron is a marshall-like amp right? maybe your style of playing is not suited for marshalls.

You've sounded the best through Mesas imo.

Broseph if you got the cash or if someone you know would profile it for you...profile a couple different tonal settings that you like, and get a Kemper. That way you can flip amps and keep the tones 99.8% of it or whatever the actuality of it is, and if you find one you truly love you'll still have all the tones of the others to compare, and if you must you can always go back you know.

I've actually considered the Kemper, I don't play live, I play with a drummer on occassion when I need inspiration to write, other than that it's here at the house..... that being said that CCV is aweful sexy sitting next to me right now.

Hate you're fighting the tone of your new amp. Hope you can add what you can to get the most out of it, but Nothing sounded as badass as your first tremoverb, that tone was just god like, i dont know what was up with the second one but it didnt hold a candle to the first one for some reason
