Anyone still play a PWE Event Horizon? Thoughts

To my ears and fingers Ted's amps and guitars are for sure on the same level with any of the other brands mentioned, great form and function, killer cleans, master, loop and gain and boost. Stelar build quality and they look cool as hell. Same for his guitars. For sure worth checking out. I would find a dealer who has an approval period and give them a test drive. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry my thread has turned into yet another junior high he said, she said call out. Not my intention... and my thanks to those who actually gave honest feedback on my initial question.

Unfortunate this forum... and moreso, just social media gives the blind, the dumb, the inept freedom and no filter to run their mouths and express their mis-guided and meant to insult opinions. And it seems to be the same party(s)... so it's not the indian.. just a few misshaped arrows.

With that being said, Ive decided to buy an overpriced Bugera..... at least I know Im getting F'D.

I have both SLO for 10 years and PWE EH3 for about 4 years, now I played more EH3 than SLO, below are the advantages I thought of this amp:
1. Great master, great for practice at room level, but can also be ridiculous loud.
2. Awesome clean, can be sparkle clean or fatter sound like Marshall, fast attack finger response.
3. Each ch has individual 4 types frequency switch, for OD can sound really solid, but also can make it has slightly shimmy effect on the top end.
4. I have to said the 2CH can easily compete with SLO's lead ch, but more fun and more articulate sounding than SLO. You will experience similar vide while playing both amp together, they both react direct, in your face with really organic feel, you can hear every stings ringing clearly when strummimg.
5. Very juicy 3ch, bit darker than 2ch but great for soloing, sustaining singing tone.

If you cant get the good sound out of EH3, probably because at the rear panel there is a secret "Decelerator" which you should look at into it more detail. When you turn it all the way down, it act like a Marshall type plexi sort of sounds, narrow, tight, quick response of how you play. But once you slowly turn it way up, the amp opens. It gets bit lazy, like sitting back, you will feel the amp starting to fill up with energy, but at the same time you might lose the immediate react of the finger-string feel. The tone will be fully exploded, fatter low end, standing out mid frequency, you will need some time to find the best spot for your playing condition.

Great tone with awesome feel, really fun to pay, super underrated amp brand.

Sorry my mistake, EH3 don't have MASTER volume, each ch has its own volume. ^^

Yeap, my SLO at least need vol at 2 to sound OK, they both different beast, rock beast!!!

Don't really need an amp but you know how we are...lol. The EH3 and Bogner Goldfinger have my interest currently.... and both within my limited budget. Could also snag a 3rd Power SR.... tho not as versatile being just 1 channel.... tho a very nice 1 channel.

Goldfinger is way better than the EH. I haven't played the Citizen Gain, but it sounds phenomenal in the demos.

I've owned a buttload of boutique amps, including a PWE EH and a Bogner Shiva 20th. I think they compare very well. Both have very good cleans that go from sparkly to fatter, as an earlier poster said. The dirty channel is Marshally, going from breakup to JCM800 to some great VH dirty tones and beyond.

I'm not calling the EH a knockoff or anything like that. It's just a comparison between two great amps. I'd buy each back today if I was in the market for a new one.

Agree with the comment about the EH being a lot more flexible than any Friedman I've played. Not slagging on Friedman amps - they are amazing and have their own, very cool thing going on.

I owned an EH3 for a while, and I really enjoyed it. It has some of the most well thought out (and unique) features, and they all had a big impact on the tone.
It was also a very well built and cool looking amp!
I only sold it because head to head with my XTC 20th, I preferred the Bogner.
Otherwise, its a really nice amp...especially for what they go for on the used market.
