Anyone still play a PWE Event Horizon? Thoughts

Here are some facts for you that you clearly missed. First of all, I only gave my honest opinion. I said nothing critical. I said the amps were good. I ASKED if they were still in business. I didn't try to start any rumors. If asking a question is somehow starting rumors, then go and blame everyone who asks questions with some of your paranoid bullshit. YOU are the one who should be banned.

I don't fuck with people on this forum. I'm just fine until someone screws around. If I'm wrong, then I'm man enough to admit it and will apologize directly to whoever. Up until the point when someone came along and said some bullshit about me, there wasn't a problem. Someone made something out of what I said that wasn't there to begin with.

If you're going to call someone out then at least be accurate and apply the same standards to yourself. I don't start shit around here, and the proof is in the postings. I got little rude fuckers like you, Blackbird, Scotosan, and a few others who can't just leave well enough alone. You always have to say some unnecessary bullshit. I have serial number 1 of the first version of the event horizon. It is an absolutely fantastic amplifier. It really sustains and sings, and it sounds terrific at low volumes and yet still can cut through a loud band.

And ted is a really nice man who really cares about keeping his customers happy with their gear.

To my ears and fingers Ted's amps and guitars are for sure on the same level with any of the other brands mentioned, great form and function, killer cleans, master, loop and gain and boost. Stelar build quality and they look cool as hell. Same for his guitars. For sure worth checking out. I would find a dealer who has an approval period and give them a test drive. Just my 2 cents.

definitely. top notch. had a PWE guitar and the build quality was as good as anything out there.

When you turn it all the way down, it act like a Marshall type plexi sort of sounds, narrow, tight, quick response of how you play. But once you slowly turn it way up, the amp opens. It gets bit lazy, like sitting back, you will feel the amp starting to fill up with energy, but at the same time you might lose the immediate react of the finger-string feel. The tone will be fully exploded, fatter low end, standing out mid frequency, you will need some time to find the best spot for your playing condition.

Great tone with awesome feel, really fun to pay, super underrated amp brand.

Guys, I have had my 50W EH3 for 4 years now, and in addition to the points made above, I love the FX loop on this amp, and I love Ted's design approach of NOT trying to be a Fender/Marshall in a box.

Instead, to me, the EH3 has the classic Marshall tones at its core, and adds progressive amounts of gain and tone tweakability in each respective channel.

I have compared the 50W EH3 directly against the the Soldano SOL100, and to my ear, the Soldano tone is a "thicker" sound and its 100watts is more "mighty" sounding (for lack of a better word), whereas the 50W EH3 is a "sweeter" sound, and has much more of the classic "stringy" Marshall tone that we all grew up on. You get better note definition with the EH3, and more stringy clarity to my ear.

I have compared the 50W EH3 directly against a purple Friedman Marsha 100 that was formerly owned by Steve Stevens. To my ear, both of these amps have that same classic "stringy" Marshall quality that we all love. BUT, the EH3 also gives you:

1. THREE channels for rocking out
2. Much more EQ options on each channel
3. Power section control and tweakability
4. Much lower noise (i.e., less hiss, and no ground hum)
5. Much more real-world $$ value (i.e., the price point is lower, the sonic options are greater, and the build quality is high)

BTW, I compared all of these amps using a Bogner 4x12 loaded with V30's and G12H30's in an "x" pattern.

I rarely come to this forum anymore, but when I do, I always seem to read posts from the same haters.....it gets old fast!
