Some of his behavior is like that of a spoiled child, but being hit with bottles, rocks, and random objects night after night would drive anyone over the edge at some point. Why would people pay to come see a band and then throw things at them? If you don't like the band, don't go to their concert and ruin it for everyone else. But the showing up late and stuff, not cool.

Ya it's odd. Imagine playing a bar and some threw a bottle. Would you just stand there and keep playing?

Anyone that says they would keep playing when stuff is being thrown at you is either stupid or a liar. If you have ever played a gig with a decent sized light rig you know it is almost impossible to see something flying in the air at you from the crowd. It is not worth getting hurt.

If they do a reunion tour I'll go, I missed them back in the day and would like to have a chance to see them. Can they recreate the magic? Possibly, but I would not bet on it. If they can get it together and keep it together it will be the tour of 2016.

The one thing people forget about when bashing bands like GNR is their history. They went from nobodies to global superstars in a couple of years. They were literally dirt poor in 1987/88. By 1990/91 they were selling out multiple dates in stadiums around the world, that is one hell of a head trip.
They were misfits with a lot of emotional baggage and had no one guiding them along. I doubt anyone in that position would turn out much different if they wouldn't end up dead.

We all know how the media distorts and makes up stuff, imagine dealing with that on a daily basis. I do not feel sorry for anyone in GNR but I do not buy into anything the press reports about the band either. I just hope GNR can keep it together long enough to complete a year of touring together.

He's prima donna for sure, but I can't stand that throwing bottles and rocks stuff.

I saw this sort of stuff happen a lot when I lived in Italy and went to a few concerts there. Never understood why you would throw shit at the stage and try to screw with people as they were playing a lead. I remember Mustaine had to tell people between songs to cut the bottle throwing shit or they would be out of there cause Marty got hit a couple of times. Couldn't believe it. Anyway they killed their set either way. What a show that was.

The moral of the story is - Don't be a pussy and earn some respect.

You parsed the situation well. No one should have to take being pelted with bottles and anything else.

However, Axl's other primma donna behavior, which frequenlty screwed over fans, has resulted in people hating on everything about him, even when Axl was in the right.

Glad I saw them in Appetite days befoe the whole Sweet Child of Mine release. They were still a small, loud and rough-edged band.
