A Dozen Furies for me. That band had so much potential. They really had a solid "Metalcore" sound. They knew how to incorporate elements from both of the genre's and make it sound awesome. The riffs were great and the lyrics/vocals spoke to me.

Original CoC lineup is still playing. Pepper Keenan was not an original member. They still sound pretty good!

Peach was a really good band, though I'm glad that bassist ended up doing what he ended up doing.

I wish Soundgarden hadn't broken up. I liked their development and think their most recent album, King Animal, was 14 years late but still awesome.

Silverchair. Their last album wasn't their best, but Neon Ballroom and Diorama were incredible. I think Silverchair paved the way for Muse in a lot of ways.

+1 on Temple of the Dog, but I don't think it was intended to be anything other than a side project.

One band off the top of my head . . . Lynch Mob. If the Wicked Sensation album was marketed better and had better sales (maybe more US tour dates too) they probably would have had a better follow up album, or at least a bigger budget to have a much better production. The 2nd album was so far off the 1st one I see it as the band already being broken up. Even since then with all the small tours and EPs it still isn't the same. I did get to catch them with Oni in '01 and '10 so not a total loss. The name Lynch Mob probably sells more tickets but in my opinion should just be called "The George Lynch Group (of revolving musicians)" :p

Lotsa good ones here!

My top "I have to agree" with choices are:

Badlands
Nevermore
Skid Row

Viking Skull with our rigtalk member Domtheviking.

For Pete I would even throw in The Absence

Silver Tide
Brother Cane
Cry of Love.

Queensryche losing DeGarmo was heartbreaking.

I would have liked to hear more from The Panic Channel, but I knew that was a 'one and done' album. Great singing, playing, and arranging on that one.

On another note, I would have happily given up Soundgarden and Pearl Jam to have Temple of the Dog continue on.

Ride the Sky
The Codex
Last Tribe
Mercenary (Sandager brothers era)
Platitude
