BE-100, ON THE MEND

I was hoping the OP would post up with the part he left out but seeing how he has not and I am being thrown under the bus here for something outside of my control.

Here is the real story.

The OP ordered the amp from my shop and all was cool and we ordered it from Friedman. It took longer to be completed by the manufacturer than was anticipated which was not in my control. What I could control is how quickly it got to him when it was done so I offered to upgrade his shipping from regular USPS International Priority 10-14 days to USPS Express International (2 day air to the UK) at my expense as a goodwill gesture for the extra time it took to be completed (which cost me a few extra hundred bucks).

The OP requested that we mark the value low ($300) for customs so he would not get hit with a ton of import duties. I told him I would do that for him but he would have to take the responsibility for the amp once it left our possession as I would not be able to insure it for more than the declared value. He agreed and I had it shipped straight from the production facility to the OP.

From there it was picked up at USPS and processed out of the country, it got to the UK and went MIA. I spent days on the phone with USPS trying to figure out where it was. They could only tell me it left the USA and was en route. This went on for months and then they sent us letters saying it was un located and we could file an insurance claim which I let the OP know about. I did file the claim for the $300 with USPS as that was the max we could claim due to the value being marked what it was. They kept telling us it was open due to trace and investigation and thats where it has been.

Luckily they finally found it and got it to him but that is the reason we couldn't file an insurance claim for the full amount. Why it was in a Cameron box I have no idea, we never touched the amp but all of the other Friedmans we have ordered have come in Friedman specific boxes. I am guessing the amp was delayed and they were trying to get it out to meet the air deadline and used whatever box they had on hand. I cant comment on that as I didn't see/touch/ship it.

I am glad it is all working out and we will not agree to try to save an overseas buyer customs/duties expenses any more because if something goes wrong we get flamed for it. Its not the OPs fault that USPS had it go missing but he knew the reason why we couldn't file a claim and he should of posted it here.

I wouldn't ship overseas, period. Fuck that shit. You live in the UK. Buy something made on your side of the pond.

Funny how quickly a little bit of clarification can change the perception of an "event". If what Brad said is true (and I don't doubt for second that it is), the OP should be publicly apologizing for leaving out some key info at the expense of Brad's reputation. One of the more uncool things I've seen here lately.

Shit. Better go get the goats outta the barn again......

Holy shit. Not a good decision to undervalue the package, obviously. An oversea's seller did that to me without telling (despite me specifically requesting fulling insurance). Thank God it arrived. I agree the OP probably should have clarified that. The lack of an insurance payout was by far the sketchiest part of the story.

As for PP gift, I would never pay for the amp like that and it still seems weird for a dealer to request it, but at the end of the day the OP agreed to do it.

The Cameron box is just hilarious to me because it no one seems to be defending it from allegations that it's inadequate yet apparently someone thinks it's good enough for Cameron amps.

Brad you're a straight up guy with an excellent reputation.
I will buy from King Guitar no doubt!

I am glad the person got the amp! When I ordered the BE-100 I also had to deal with a lot of delay in the production...

Its fun to see some people here like Jerry Dyer talk crap about a customer...
Something he might have picked up from the infamous Mark Cameron.

for the record we would prefer to be paid with a credit card 99% of the time. Pay Pal is cool but a much higher rate than we pay for cards at the shop but it is what it is, we appreciate when guys will send us PPL gift but it is never a requirement.

If you ask a lower value declaration, you better be damn sure the item will be packed bulletproof. I know that first hand.

Yeah, they likely came over on a palet, on a ship, and they were in Marshall boxes, well packed, and I got them w/ no wait and a return option.

but his point is, its a good thing marshall doesnt feel the same way you do. Youre both right. its all good. :)

Why are you so angry at the ocean? What did it ever do to you?

In this day and age, an online vendor limiting him/herself to domestic sales is doomed.

I sold a Gower Cali modded Marshall here a few months ago. The buyer wanted me to ship it back to Dan for a Killer Kali upgrade..he also asked that I undervalue it as well. LUCKILY it arrived in one piece and all is well...but I was a bit worried as this same situation could arise..It's too bad that fact was left out as it's pretty damn important..
